I have used then twice before and the quality is always prompt, thorough and supported with photographs and budget estimates. They even provide a same-day reaction listing the main findings, with the detailed report following three or four days later.

The customer service provided by Able Surveyors and the level of detail of the survey was excellent. For previous reports made by other surveyors I've had to go back to them asking for additional details or why expected known issues with the property hadn't been included, with the survey from Able, everything was included in the first report I received and explained in good detail. I'd definitely recommend their services.

Generally poor. Service was not carried out as agreed, parts missing from survey report, and refusal to perform simple property-specific checks. Would neither use again or recommend.

We have reviewed your instructions and some of the concerns you listed were beyond the scope of a RICS Homebuyer Survey. We did explain this to you before we carried out the survey. We did not hear from you after you received your report, so it is really disappointing that you chose to leave this feedback instead of contacting us with questions you had about your survey. I was amazed at the level of detail provided, together with careful explanations in layman's terms. A very full report, which we relied on to pull out of the purchase in view of the level of remedial work required and associated ongoing risks. We will probably use them again when we find a replacement property.

I do not personally recommend the company Able Surveyor. The price was really good, but the communication was awful, the report was general, and our answers were not reverted after we had received the report. We had a serious issue that could make our deal fall apart, and when we called the company, the receptionist said she couldn't contact us with the surveyor. In every email I asked who is our surveyor and until today we didn't have a chance to contact him directly. The questions we asked were not answered and only one woman Elaine who was just a simple manager, not even an expert in surveying said that were not allowed to contact their surveyors, the only thing she could do was to answer our technical questions by herself, which she didn't. An absolute waste of money. We ended up to call the plumber, electrician and the engineer surveyor who were specialists in the field and provided us with the real answers rather than [quote]: "The main roof was inspected with the aid of binoculars. The roof is a traditional pitched style construction ." I mean, I felt like anyone could go to the premises and just state what the parts of the house are made of. Plus, you really do not want to be left without proper communication right before you purchase your first property! What a shame!

This is very disappointing feedback to receive. Firstly to address your comments regarding the report itself, a building survey always details the construction of the property so we are not sure why you would put this in a negative light. As well as detailing the property, the surveyor identified defects to your property totalling £48,500. There are limitations to a Building Survey and sometimes we have to recommend further investigations – in this case we recommended you have a qualified electrician carry out a Periodic Inspection Report for the electrics and a Gas Safe engineer assess the gas boiler. The surveyor also reported structural movement to the front elevation. It was not possible from the one visit to tell whether this movement was ongoing and we also flagged this as needing further investigation. So you asking an electrician, gas engineer and structural engineer for further advice is exactly what we recommended you should do. Secondly, we are surprised you feel you did not have enough customer support once the survey had been carried out. Whilst it isn’t always easy to speak to the surveyors, as they are out doing surveys during the day, they will call back when available. On the day you submitted your queries your surveyor Dean was not available to speak to you until later. Elaine talked you through the report. Elaine is the company’s Operations Manager, has 20 years surveying experience and is very capable of answering survey queries. You still insisted you needed to speak to Dean right then. This wasn’t possible so we arranged for another of our surveyors to call and talk through your concerns. You were happy with this and as far as we were aware there were no outstanding queries. If you still had concerns we would have expected you to raise them with us to resolve, rather than just post negative feedback.
