Cambridge is a well-connected university city situated on the River Cam. The university has existed since 1209, but Cambridge itself is far older and archaeological evidence suggests the area has been settled since the Bronze Age. Today the city has a great deal to offer including many museums, parks and theatres. A notable example is the city’s former corn exchange which was renovated and reconverted it into a full-time arts venue that hosts a variety of musical, arts and comedy performances. Cambridge is a green city and throughout the summer many festivals and fairs set up shop in some of the city’s many parks. These make for enjoyable days out and include the Midsummer Fair which has run since the 13th century, the weeklong Cambridge Beer Festival and the Cambridge Folk Festival – one of the largest of its kind in Britain. Cambridge evidently has a lot to offer and as such it is unsurprising that reallymoving.com and our RICS regulated Chartered Surveyors have helped over 1100 people relocate to the city in the last year alone.
Cambridge is currently undergo a string of redevelopments, notably the university led North West Cambridge Development. This particular development will construct 3,000 homes, alongside open spaces and community facilities. While this development is exciting and the area will become an affordable living destination, new builds are at risk of multiple problems including wood boring insects. Insects are often spotted after construction or reconstruction as the supplied timber may be contaminated with eggs or larvae leading to an outbreak. This is one reason reallymoving.com highly recommends the services of our expert Chartered Surveyors as the Homebuyer Report they provide will address insect infestation and other common property damages.
Whether you want to explore Cambridge’s many museums and galleries, relax in the city’s bars or float leisurely down the River Cam our Chartered Surveyors are here to help streamline your move and minimise costs. This will allow you to enjoy Cambridge without delay.
