House Removals

We also provide an unpacking service where, when we reach your new home, we unpack and unwrap your belongings and remove any rubbish. If you choose to do your own packing before we arrive we can supply you with packaging materials.

All of our packers are professionally trained and can dismantle and reassemble furniture.

Storage

We offer safe self-storage in our East London depot. The facility is guarded 24/7 by patrols and there is CCTV in operation. Insurance is available as well. All customers can benefit from the most competitive storage rates in East London.

Sienna was extremely helpful with pre-moving advice. I thought the estimate of van capacity was too much but both vans where filled. The four men who did the work where unfailingly good humored,extremely hard working and very dexterous with large objects...they where even still lovely( after working flat put for seven hours) when told id changed my mind and could they bring that heavy furniture down the stairs again. I cannot praise them enough.

I was extremely impressed by the fast, efficient service from the two removal men. They were friendly and careful throughout despite having some large and heavy furniture to move around tight spaces and difficult staircases. I was very pleased with the service received and would use Top Removals again as my first choice for future moves in London.

We got top removals in to move our boxes and breakdown and rebuild our furniture. Really pleased with the company. The email enquiries were dealt with quickly, accurately and helpfully. The movers were about 10mins late but called to let us know. They were really quick and efficient. There was an incident with a neighbour of ours (no fault at all of the movers) and they dealt with it really professionally and courteously. And finally really good value for money.

Emil came round to our 2 bed/2 bath flat to do an estimate, which came in at 1180 cubic feet, comparable to other quotes we had received. We asked for the full pack, removal and unpack to specified locations service, which we paid extra for. The quote was competitive and we were happy to go with Top Removals out of the five quotes we received. Emil was friendly and nice to deal with both in person and on email. However, on packing day the Top Removals staff arrived 1.5 hrs late, and put in a full 8 hours of packing. This was fine and no problem with us, but the estimate for boxes was very inadequate. We were told that we would need at least 30 more boxes at a pack rate of £5-6 per box, this did not include the unpack price per box. Therefore the quote was wrong and extra cost was sprung on us at the last minute. On moving day, Top Removals had said they would be out of the flat by 1pm. At 5pm they were still there, packing some items left and moving. They again, had underestimated the amount of time needed. They brought in an extra man (at no cost to us) as well to help out. They arrived at our new address around 6pm, and proceeded to start to unpack. Although we had paid extra to unpack to specified locations, this was farcical as what happened was an unpack to any cupboard that could be found. We told them to leave the boxes of books, dvds and cds for us to unpack as that would have taken them even longer. As it was, they were unpacking until 11pm, but messily, so much so that now we have to take everything out of the wardrobes and cupboards where they put things and start from scratch. So it was not worth paying the extra for unpacking to specified location, if you are going to use them, just pay for unpack to flat surface and do the rest yourself.

On packing day the delay was due to a queue at the depot of our packing materials supplier in the morning and beyond our control. The client had been notified and the delay was only 45 min, with some 15-20 min wasted while suitable parking was being found in the area to leave our vehicle as no parking arrangements were made. Due to personal request from the client we accepted the booking with last moment notice preventing the opportunity for us to suspend a parking bay with the local authorities. This led to us parking quite far from the entrance. That and the fact that there were two long corridors, a slow lift and a few fire doors to go through meant that this was a move that took some time to be completed. On the moving day an extra man was arranged to help our other team members to finish quicker and cost for that was met by us as a supplier, despite the difficult access to the property. All furniture was handled with great care and properly wrapped and packed, which also takes time. There were extra 25-30 boxes packed on the moving day as per client request. Items which could have been packed on the day before the move, but were not because the client needed them on that day. Unfortunately full unpacking means that a client has to co-ordinate the unpacking process and show where each and every item is to be placed as our men are not familiar with the property and client's requirements in advance. Having a few men unpacking who had to be co-ordinated led to the decision that the unpacking should be left for the customer to arrange at a convenient time. Despite the difficult access and resources needed, we managed to complete the move within the two day period given by client and with great care. All challenges were met and dealt with immediately and everything was communicated to the client. Moving is a stressful process and a sometimes a long one, however we stay for as long as necessary and always finish the job with great care to the clients.

Would definitely recommend this company - they were on time, fast, didn't break anything and unlike most companies, when the removal went 10 minutes into another hour and I was fully expecting to be charged another full hour, the chap tried to work out how much the extra 10 minutes would cost! Needless to say I just gave him the full hours cost as a tip!

The movers were 4 hours late. They did call in the beginning to say they were running 1 hour behind, but then I had to wait at my old flat for an additional 3 hours which delayed the cleaners as well as my previous landlord whom was waiting to collect the keys. Inconvenienced everyone. Our move coordinator made no apologies, nor did she attempt to offer a discount. Her claim is that the delay was beyond their control. That said, how is one to prove it's not beyond their control. Clearly a loop hole in their terms. I would NEVER recommend them. The movers themselves were quite nice, but clearly overworked.

Unfortunately on the day there was a delay on the job prior to the customer's job. Since the customer booked 2hrs man and van service starting at 2pm, we cannot hold a two-man crew at the customer's disposal for the full day and assigned our team a similar sized job in the morning. Our other customer from the morning had problems accessing the flat and we had our vehicle full with personal effects which could not be left outside. That caused the delay. We gave this customer regular updates on the day as the vehicle was tracked. We offered an apology and completed the move within the 2hrs slot booked without causing further problems. All our movers are very nice and professional and not overworked. It was a one-off delay which doesn't happen very often and was beyond our control as we were not aware of the problems the other customer was having. This customer benefited from the cheapest price and had his house move done for £120. Regarding the claims that no apologies were offered, I am quoting our move coordinator’s email from that day: "I am very sorry to hear that you were inconvenienced by the delay in the team’s arrival. Please accept my apologies for this" and then again at the end of the email: "Once again, many apologies for the wait" Our terms and conditions are written by the trade association we are members of and approved by the Removal Ombudsman and the insurers.
