Paul carried out the survey (having missed the 1st appt due to 'an office error'), but did not include in the report the Building Regulations that the woodburning stove was in violation of. When questioned the reply was 'you were told to have further inspections carried out prior to Exchange of contracts' Perhaps I am being very naive but I would expect that a building surveyor would have a grasp of Building Regulations relating to residential homes and not just say 'you need to have this checked again' This attitude does not inspire confidence, but as I say I do not know if Paul is alone in not knowlng or including Building Regulations violations in his reports. Having said that we did receive the report in good time and the price was good, although had the issues with the woodburner been flagged up, rather than included in a 3 line paragraph telling me to get further inspections done, I would have negotiated a discounted sale price, so maybe the Value for Money wasn't so good after all. Really Moving is a very useful website and one that I will use again, and find a different surveyor.

I had some further queries a few days later and he even called me back while he was on holiday.
