Bude is a gorgeous seaside town in the Cornish countryside. While it has been popular with tourists since the Victorian era, Bude has many permanent residents and a charm that lasts all year round. The town centre has many independent, boutique shops in a friendly environment. The traditional architecture of the town follows along the path of the River Neet until it meets the sea, overlooked by The Castle Bude. You must pay a visit to the local’s favourite restaurant, Life’s A Beach. This laid-back hangout serves beautifully fresh seafood and has incredible views of the golden sand of Summerleaze beach and the blue of the Atlantic Ocean.
It is the natural wonders of Bude that are its biggest attraction. The town is located a stone’s throw from several stunning, sandy beaches, including Duckpool and Crooklets, as well as a number of secluded coves. The regular waves coupled with great sunny weather make Bude a surfer’s paradise. But if you’re looking for something a little more relaxing, the town is also home to a community-run, salt water swimming pool that’s carved into the coastal rocks. A little further afield, the Heartland Heritage Coast is the place to go for breath-taking walks beside the sea.
