Question
I’ve just put my property on the market and I was wondering which online property portals my property is likely to be listed on? As so many people look online for houses nowadays, I feel it’s important that my property is listed online; is this something I have to ask my estate agent to do? And can it appear on multiple online property portals?
Answer
This really depends on the estate agent and you should definitely ask the question before signing up to anything. Whether the estate agent is a traditional High Street Agent or an Online Estate Agent it is very likely that your property will be present on Rightmove and/or Zoopla. If not, they should be!
These are the two ‘big players’ when it comes to property web portals and feed many, many other websites that will advertise your property. For instance the ‘PrimeLocation’ property website is fed its property data from Zoopla. Combined Rightmove and Zoopla feed their data to hundreds of other websites such as The Sun website, Daily Express, FindaProperty.com etc.
