As usual, we got 3 quotes for our house move. Chose David Mercer at United Mover and so glad we did. Not just competitive but his team went the extra mile in ensuring our moving day was less stressful than it could have been. Their confidence mixed with good humour and a bit of banter made us feel we were in safe hands. They turned up on time and took over working non-stop until all was delivered safely into the new house. His team even offered help with some items we were moving ourselves. I would recommend United Movers to anyone who wants an efficient and friendly moving experience. Would definitely use them again if we were ever mad enough to move house again. Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: £750

The two men assigned our job were on time and did a reasonable job of packing up the items of furniture they were asked to move. They had clearly not been briefed properly by Head Office because when they arrived, they were surprised about the things they had to move despite us having had someone from the company to the house to see the items and provide a quote.

They didn't have enough wardrobe boxes for the number of wardrobes we had, despite having advertised that they would take clothes out of wardobes, put them in hanging boxes and then put them back in the same state they'd taken them out.

They scratched a desk as they took it up the stairs in our new home, scraping the paintwork on the bannister as they went. They initially said they would take £30 off the bill, which I didn't feel was acceptable.

They put some of the wardrobe doors on upside down, so that two wardrobes that were identical and in the same room had handles at different heights. They put shelves back in at the wrong heights, and put the clothes back in in a terrible mess - some wardrobes nearly empty, one so full I had trouble getting any of the clothes back out again because they were so tightly packed.

They came back to sort out the wardrobe doors, but they're still a mess - don't meet in the middle and still the handles are not aligned. Not at all as they were originally. They arranged a French polisher to address the desk scratch, which now looks OK but only after a week without the desk and the associated upheaval of that.

When I queried these things with a view to having some money taken off the bill for an inadequate service, I was told that "the job had been done" so no discount was available. They spoke to me like I'd done something wrong, rather than them.

All in all, it was a horrible experience, and I wish I could go back and not book them. I think the two men who came round were expecting a smaller job thanks to not having been briefed properly, so they hurried and cut corners to get it done and the damage and mistakes were the result of that. That combined with the unpleasant response we got when we queried the errors ruined our first night in our new home.

The team were excellent and arrived on time. They took great care of my belongings and advised on the best ways for them to be stored and moved. They worked quickly and efficiently as a team and were polite and cheerful at all times. They had been recommended to me by a director of a very large firm for whom they'd done an office move efficiently. Therefore with the good word and online good service I had read of chose this company and I was not disappointed. They were competitive on price, skilled and moved my goods with precision and care. I would recommend them to others without any doubts. I am highly pleased by David and his efficient team.

The team turned up on time to my move in coventry. I was very stressed prior to this move as I have never done it before. they put me at ease from the beginning and Paul was always on the other end of the phone to answer any questions. Even before my move they delivered 50 boxes to my house.. Nothing was broken on the day and everything was protected on their lorry and I was particularly impressed with their tv protector. I would recommend them again to all of my friends. Thanks guys. If I move again then I will call you again.
