TransWorld International Removals

The Packer was abysmal. Only 1 packer sent for a 4 bedroom house. Packing only half completed when the truck arrived so moving guys were taking furniture without protection. Packing was total chaos most boxes had items from 3 or more rooms. which made unpacking take days longer than necessary and checking off items that were/weren't delivered impossible. Expensive items were packed carelessly. A hand-blown glass vase was packed amongst cans of food, but 1 steel saucepan was wrapped in 11 (thats not a typo) layers of paper and had a box to itself (taking up 0.6 m3 of space in the truck). Silver candlesticks were snapped into 3 pieces then each piece was packed in a separate box - this had to be willful damage. Lots of other damage from careless handling including TV was dropped, cabinet & bed broken. A number of items went missing including 2 boxes of wine, linen & garden tools. Packers loaded the truck without big items such as beds, whiteware, or dining table then demanded extra payments.

Head office very rude and arrogant. Our request for an approximate delivery date appeared to be an absurd question that took 5 goes to extract from admin. They were very efficient at demanding extra payments but would not reply to emails or phone calls.

However, the guys who delivered the furniture were very helpful. Sadly stickers are not removable and were placed on the front of furniture so we have a daily reminder of how terrible the Transworld move was.

I got my things eventually, that's about the only positive thing I can say about transworld international removals.
I paid to have my things moved from New Zealand to Denmark, and paid what I was informed was the total amount before my things were picked up. After about 2 1/2 months I receive an estimated arrival date and a referral to the Dutch company who will be responsible for the final transfer of my stuff within Europe. A few weeks past the estimated arrival date I receive an invoice from the Dutch company with no explanation about the extra cost. After complaining to Transworld that I did not pay to have my things moved, subject to my financial situation at the time of arrival, I hear nothing more from them, basically they do not even dignify my complaint with a response and I have no choice but to pay the invoice of 125 euro. My things finally arrive a month after the ETA. The Dutch company were nice, but they were hopelessly disorganised with several different people contacting me independently of one another and initially delivering my things to the wrong address, despite several confirmations.
I recommend anyone to steer clear of Transworld, because they will ignore you if any issues arise and you will likely end up paying more than your quote states.

From Start to Finish it was a disaster from Auckland to Canterbury. The movers asked us to bring boxes downstairs and I spent a good few hours helping them (which I shouldn't have). They didn't do a driveway pre-inspection to determine that the power lines were too low so had the staff sleeping and waiting around for hours while they got a smaller truck. They missed the Auckland boat by a week, for some reason which was never explained to us. We were without furniture in new home for a week (it would have been longer if we hadn't kicked up a fuss). The worst part was seeing our antique precious furniture and goods broken and ripped apart. The christchurch moving crew said it was broken on arrival from the shipping container, as it wasn't even packed or padded with as much as a blanket. Cocktail cabinet glass smashed, piano scratched all down the side from falling against metal shipping container apparently, heirlooms which were padded and marked Fragile were broken. The agent said it was the 'worst damage i have seen in a long time'.

They did reimburse us for $1000K but that will definitely not cover the repair costs, OR the sentimental disappointment.

They did ignore our request for compensation for the whole bad experience from start to finish. Nearly $10K paid to get our precious items down here, only to receive them, most of them damaged.

They also smacked the pink stickers ALL over the front facing parts of furniture, which were and still are hard to remove.

Don't go there.
