Long-distance move from Missouri to Connecticut

This Company is a Scam!

Once they get your ACH deposit you’re done.
They didn’t even show up for our scheduled move. Probably because we were too far away. I guess I should be grateful given the other reviews of additions fees and property being stolen, damaged or just never showing up.

Long-distance move from Oklahoma to Texas

Dishonest.

This company is very dishonest and they do not communicate. They will provide you with a quote that is low initially, but when they get to your house/apt the costs will significantly go up by at least 500.00-1000.00. They damaged my goods upon delivery and I am taking them to court because they still have not provided me with a settlement check. This company is a fraud starting from the owner Cliff, GM Robert and others. I advise you all stay away from this company as I am taking them to court immediately.

Official company response

Mr. Lengar while we apologize if the move failed to meet your expectations we would like to clarify some points. The damaged items you had were particle wood and unlikely to survive a long distance move however we still send you out a settlement letter based on the insurance you have. You choose to decline the offer of $198 which was above the amount due per the 60 cents per LBS insurance you had. Also we did not increase the price of your move. You increased the number of boxes you were shipping on move day substantially therefore we gave you a revised cost prior to us beginning the move. You agreed to the cost at the time and we executed the move as contracted. Please send in the settlement letter signed and we will gladly reimburse you for the damages. Trans United strives to provide the highest level of service and to resolve any issues our clients may have. Thank you.

Long-distance move from San Diego, CA to Albuquerque, NM

Amazing Company! Outstanding Service!

I can't thank James & Trans United enough for making our moving day so wonderful and for being so helpful! These guys were seriously awesome! They worked their butts off. We are military and move around a lot and they were by far the fast and most proficient workers. This company is fabulous and I would hire them again and give them my highest recommendation!

Those who know me know that I am extremely difficult to please so take that for what it is worth! Everyone with this company is over-the-top courteous and professional. Not one thing was lost or damaged! Very respectful (which is hard to come by these days) and at around $2000.00 total, and incredible bargain!

Thank you again! You guys rock. I would highly recommend this company for your next move!!

Long-distance move from New Port Richey, FL to Rockford, IL

Rip off very poor service and.lies.

December 19th, 2017 I was looking for a moving company to move my wife and I From Florida to Illinois. I came across Trans united van lines. I had research see if there were any complaints against this company. The Better Business Bureau Show Trans United van lines was A plus. I called Trans United van lines December 19th, 2017 spoke with Chris in sales. I Explained that my wife and I are moving from Florida to Illinois to see what the cost to move us. Chris asked me when I was going to move, and what kind of furniture anything else that would be going with us to Illinois. I gave Chris list of items over the phone that had to be carried on the truck, and about 75 boxes. Chris Put me on old to figure out what the cost would be to move from FL to ILL. I have told Chris I was a veteran and disable. Chris put me on hold for about 5 to 10 minutes. When Chris came back to the phone told me he has email me a Binding Moving Estimate (see biding estimate with complete brake down what the move will cost me.) I said to Chris that is good what is next. Chris said that I would need to a deposit of $745.00 How would pay for it. I gave Chris my bank card number so Trans United Van Lines can hold that rate. Chris ask when I was plaining to move. I told Chris June 2nd, 2018 (5-month notice.) Chris said that date is open what time would I like to have the movers there. I said the earliest I can get. I was given time 8 am to 10 am on June 2nd. The date was set for June 2nd between 8am and 10am. In the contract. I have emailed Chris a list and the measurements of all the furniture.
About a week, or two I received a call from Jason from Trans united van lines. That he will be taking over from here all the way through the move, and when we receive our belongings. Jason stated he will Check on us to see if I would need help or answer any question I said thank you. I asked Jason for his email, so I can email so I can email a list of the furniture with the measurements plus count on how many boxes with measurement. Jason said that would be grate it will help a lot. I haven’t heard from Jason for a while About a month to month a half. Jason called me to see how things were going. I explained that had made changes in the boxes and I will email the new list. Jason said thank you. I want over the date and time when the drivers are going to be at my place. Jason, said that is correct on the date, and the time. In May I have email Jason a final copy of the box count. I called Jason to see if everything is ok on the list. Jason said yes wanted to go over the list see how many cubic ft I would take up call me back. Jason called me back and stated that I would have to pay additional $1,800.00 on top of the bill. But it could go up, or down that is only when the truck is loaded, and driver will let you know. The final cubic feet. Jason said to me I would have to deposit additional $230.00 on top of the $745.00 make the deposit of $975.00 I gave Jason my checking account information to charge to my bank account card I asked Jason how the payments work. Jason said I can pay by check, money order, cashier check, or cash. At the time of deliver cash. A few hours later I had called back to spoke with because I am not going to pay $6.000.00 in cash. After I got off the phone I have called Jason and Derrick no answer voice mail was full not able to take any message. I lend up texting Jason, and Derrick about the movers are not here. I was told by Derrick Jr is in the hospital. After texting Jason, he said I cannot talk right number is Derricks phone number. I told don’t come out here to load my stuff now I am at a church convention with my wife. I text Derrick right after Jason. Derrick text back telling me his phone was not working and just picked up. I lend up texting Derrick back around 15 minutes give or take. Derrick text me back saying he is work on getting some one from GA. 35 after responding to Jason’s text I sent Derrick a text back to see how long it will take for this driver to get here. Derick text me back stating he is at a special event with is wife and can’t talk. (More information on my cell phone with all the texting I had with Jason, and Derrick.) Not sure when he will get to me a day, or so. I said to derrick this is a joke from you and your company. I didn’t believe Derrick because what has happened so far with this company. I called JR up on Sunday evening He answered the phone told me he hurt his leg. He will be there on Monday June 4th between 3pm 4pm. I said ok. Later in the day Jason called me to let me know that Jr will be there on Monday June 4th. JR showed up at 7 pm. I showed him what was going, and I have marked the boxes that where fragile. I went down stairs to see how much room they have left to put my items in the truck. Jr showed me how they mark the cubic feet one row of rivets to the next set of rivets was 175 cubic sqft. I question the way Jr told how they measured the cubic feet. I couldn’t say too much. Not sure if was telling me the truth, or what (I am not familiar with cubic feet) The men lend up finishing around 11:15 pm. Jr was wright the bill up he said he was giving me a few discounts. If I am write Jr wrote $7,000.00 when finish Jr told me I have a balance $3,300.00 on top of what I have paid already. I told Jr I only have $2,100.00 in cash. Jr said that will have to pay the rest when my items are delivered to Rockford. Jr said to my wife and I that he will be Rockford on Monday June 11th. I said ok. See you Monday June 11th. We arrived at our new apartment on Wednesday June 6th I lend up calling Jason on Monday to see if belongings are going to be here. Derrick answered the phone I asked when will my items be here. Derrick told me they have up to 14 days to receive my items. I told Derrick that Jr told me he will have everything by Monday. Derrick told that Jr was not driving anything to say or is not driving my items to me. I must wait. I said this not right all you have done is lied all the time from start to finish. I told Derrick that I am disable Veteran for the 3 times from the Derrick said to me it will be there Saturday June 16th, or Monday. June 18th. On Tuesday Jason called me and told that I will get $150.00 off my bill. they are ready to load my items on the truck. But I need to make a deposit into their account in the amount in the amount of $1,600.00 I said if I get this to the bank will my item be shipping out today. I a different person I asked if Jason was there. The gentleman told me Jason was not in the office. I told him I was trying to figure out how they came up with attentional $1,800.00. I ask about why the increase in the price. He said you need to read my contract. I asked the papers that were emailed to me that has the break down of the charges with other information. He said yes.
The gentleman asks me hold on. He came back to tell me a different amount of $1,900.00. I asked for his name he never stated his name to me. I ask him how the quote can go up from $1,800.00 to $1,900.00 in the last hour half. He did not answer Then he told me I would have to wait for the driver to get the total amount.
I was little upset over this. This was May 21st when this all happen. On May 28 I have called Jason to go ahead to despite the money in the amount of $230.00. Day later I called Jason to make sure that they have the money for the deposit he said yes and will call me on Friday June 1, 2018 to go over everything. June 1st I was waiting for Jason to call me back. It was getting late around 4:35 I called Jason to find out everything is set to go for June 2nd and the time. and that the date. Jason said the movers are going to be there on Sunday June 3rd I said to Jason I was set up to be moved on June 2nd Jason said look at your contract I said yes, I am looking at my contact it says Saturday June 2, /June 2.
I called back Saturday morning lend up speaking to the same gentleman I asked to speak to the manager. He said he is the manager who he could help me. I had explained to him what Jason said to me, Plus I asked for his name he told Derrick. I explained to him what was going on. Derrick said that will get in touch with drive and make sure he calls me. and they will be there today. Later in the evening it was around 6pm Derrick called me back and told me the Driver JR had injured doing a job is at the hospital. Derrick gave me JRS phone number to call JR. I called Jr to see if he is ok. Jr answered the phone I explain to Jr that Derrick stated to me that you were in the hospital. JR said that is wrong and the manager was lying that his truck broke down. Derrick was lying to me. JR said the truck broke down. He will be at my place on Sunday June 3rd between 3pm and 4pm later in the day. I received a call from Derrick to let me know that Jr is in the hospital with heat exhaustion I told Derrick I don’t believe you about this. Because you have lied to me already. Derrick said to my wife they are working on getting a driver from GA to move me to ILL. I will be contacted. Sunday June 3rd, I received a call from a man said to me the driver didn’t have my phone number. I gave my phone number to the gentleman. (I did not understand this person worked for the company he should have access to my information.) A few minutes later I received a call from a man telling me he can get my belongings today, or Monday. That I would have to give him cash in the amount of $6,000.00I told hm I was quoted a rate not $2,478.51. He said I need to call his boss I asked for his phone number. The gentleman gave me the phone number of 1-754-214-3069 this have spoken with Derrick about this whole thing how bad the service was. What they put my wife and I through. Sleeping on the floor having to spending money to eat out every day. This is wrong for any person. Jason called me on Tuesday June 12th told me I had to make a deposit in the amount of $1,550.80. Jason gave me their banking information to deposit the money into. (the company name that was given to me was moving from and relocation inc.) I lend up putting the amount of $1,657.80 which leaves a balance of $1,400.00 that I would own them. I called Jason back and gave him the information off the bank receipt, so they can look up the deposit. Jason said they will look for it and my belongings will be shipped out. I will receive everything by Monday, or Tuesday. I asked Jason where my furniture was all this time. Jason said in a warehouse. I was never told that my belongings were going into storage. No one told me this was the first time I found out that this happen. Sunday evening, we received a call from the truck driver that was delivering our stuff on Monday. He will call us when they get closer. When Caesar the driver got to our apartment he asked me to come and look at something. I walk to the truck he pointed to the top I ask what is that he said at the ware house the people loading the truck put the desk on top then it fell broke in peace’s I was talking to the driver he said this a company is not good. Caesar stated to me I would have to pay him first before they unload the truck. I ask why because I sure have a right to make sure everything is ok. Caesar told this is from the company no cash in my hand we don’t unload the truck. I gave Cease the cash of $1,400.00. Ask him to sign a receipt which he did. They were there days early waiting for them to load the truck up get on the road. Caesar the driver told me has called Jason to get the paper work was told he is working on it. Never respond to him would show up, and Jason would show up. Then tell Caesar he will be there and that was Tuesday that is when they started to load the truck. Caesar said he would not use this company they are not that good of a company. As of today June 22, we are still finding damaged items.

Mr. Gross we are processing the claim and we are sorry that you had issues with your move however we did disclose to you at pick up that the pressed wood furniture was not likely to make the trip intact cause it was very worn and poorly constructed and that the boxes that the client packed were overweight and heavy and should be repacked to avoid crushing however you declined that as well. As far as the other issues you had while we do strive to keep all clients happy it is sometime impossible to do so but we will work with Mr. Gross to resolve his claim as quickly as and as best we can.

Long-distance move from Atlanta, GA to Pasadena, CA

Honest Review of Trans United Movers.

We used Trans United Movers to move from Atlanta, GA to Pasadena, CA. We were very disappointed with this company and will NEVER be using them again. The list below details the issues we had with Trans United Movers. I have also attached our Bill of Lading and Order for Service (personal information has been redacted) because this company frequently responds to negative reviews by saying the customers have them confused with another mover.
1. Trans United Movers offered us an initial estimate of $1,500 for the entire move. This rate was increased to almost $3,000 after the movers had placed our items on their truck. Don’t fall for the cheap estimate over the phone.
2. The movers asked us when we would like our items delivered to California. We gave them a date in February and did not receive our items until mid-March. We had to pay an additional month of rent for an empty apartment which was not compensated by the moving company.
3. We had a particularly poor experience with the company manager, Jason. He repeatedly gave us inaccurate information about our delivery status and took a threatening tone when we mentioned writing a negative company review. He also offered us money to write a positive review for this website. Please keep this in mind while reading the other positive reviews here.
No movers are perfect but this company ruined the moving experience for us. We will rent a truck and move our items on our own in the future. Lastly, please refer to other moving rating services to see Trans United Movers’ other reviews. They are much closer to my review than the others you will see on this website.

Official company response

So while we do strive to provide the best possible services and for our estimates to be as accurate as possible if the needs of the clients specifically what they are transporting and their packing needs is not accurately communicated then their likely will be discrepancies in the quote and timelines. That is why we do take steps such as having our customer assurance manager follow up with booked clients as their move date approaches to discuss any changes in inventory and packing needs so that any prices differences may be addressed prior to the move date. Unfortunately this client was not receptive to our customer assurance calls and was too busy to discuss their needs thoroughly with our management team and this resulted in changes to the quote on move day which upset the client but we did communicate with them and provided them a substantial discount however their expectations of what they wanted to pay for what they had to ship was unrealistic.

Long-distance move from Texas to Washington

Frustrated.

After chargind us DOUBLE the estimated charges, being way later than quoted on delivery time, and then having a hidden fee at the end to have a small truck loaded with our goods because our apartment complex can not load an 18 wheeler, our price went from 2500 to 5500. We called several times and were never called back - they were rude and disrespectful to us - and lied about pick up dates. Basically they picked up our things and shipped them to a warehouse and let them sit for three weeks. It was a nightmare being that my family (Husband and 4 month old twins) were living on an airmatress in an empty apartment. I would NOT recommend Trans United. .

We are unable to verify the truthfulness of this review because there is no identifying job number and the move details match no move that we have on file. Therefore we believe this review to be false and the story is definitely not representative of the services we provide.

Long-distance move from Alabama to Texas

Beware of Trans-United, Platinum, Hotlanta Movers.

What started as a pleasant experience turned into a stressful nightmare.. I contacted Trans-United Movers and told them I had specific date requirements because I was moving my elderly parents from Alabama to Houston, Texas.  I would fly to their new home in Texas ahead of them, so we could set up their furniture and unpack all the boxes before they arrived. They told me 3 days would be plenty of time to travel the 750 mile trip.  Well, not only did it take them 5 days, but instead of the $1,600 I was quoted, they charged over $5,000, PLUS an extra $450 for unloading my parents things to a smaller truck from the 18 wheeler they had sent along with 2 other family's furniture on the same truck.  You see, the delivering driver said he didn't want to park the truck in the street because the only access was on the far side on a one way access street (because of all the other 2 families loaded on the same truck).  YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING!! Three hours later they showed up with the smaller truck (which they could have used in the first place from Alabama). Get this!..  They insisted on being paid in cash that they never mentioned until they were about to deliver 2 days late.  Imagine being from out of town to help your parents move and they demand over $5000 in cash or they won't deliver. It turns out that Trans-United subcontracted Platinum Movers, who in turn subcontracted Hotlanta Movers to deliver in Houston. What a mess. Stay away from companies that subcontract others for your move and stay away from all 3 of these companies or you could end up as stressed we my wife and I were trying to do a good thing, and ending up exhausted.. not from the move, but all the unnecessary money and stress they caused us. Find a nationally recognized company you can trust.

Service cost: $6100

Official company response

We have no record of a Jeff Ewing being moved and there is no order number stated. We believe this client has confused our company with another company with a similar name. Our company does not subcontract out its moves.

Long-distance move from Texas to Tennessee

Unbelievable Moving Horror!

Unbelievable!
Didn’t show up when scheduled, did not call to explain, robbed me of over $1500.
I scheduled a move with Trans United a month in advance. I received a “Binding Moving Estimate” and was told the price would not go up unless I exceeded the estimated cubic feet in the truck. I explained to the salesman that I had some large and heavy items and he noted and understood. I even paid them extra to crate one of these items. The move was scheduled for Thursday December 27. After packing everything I own and waiting for them to arrive, I get a call Thursday afternoon telling me they would be there Saturday the 29th. Saturday, no one came, no one called and no one answered the phone. They left me hanging for 4 days. Finally on Tuesday January 2nd, I got in touch with them. I was told that my location was out of the way and they would need an extra $800 to make the move happen.
After weighing the options of starting the process over with another company and already behind schedule, I decided to pay the fee. They were scheduled to arrive Thursday January 4th. About an hour before dark on Thursday, the truck finally arrived. It had “Joe’s Family Moving Company” or something similar on the side with three guys inside the truck. The driver was talking on a cell phone and was yelling in a foreign language, pointing his finger violently out the window as he was yelling at the person on the other end. After a few minutes, he came inside to look at my items. All of the heavy and larger items that I had were now being called “Bulky items”. There would be extra fees for those I was told. It amounted to approximately $600 in extra fees.
After this, the driver went back outside, got back on his phone and began yelling and pointing again. Although I could not understand or recognize the language, it was obvious that this was a violent conversation. He walked out into the street, into my neighbor’s yard, and wandered around yelling for about 15 minutes. His co-workers appeared to be shocked with what was going on. After getting off the phone, he asked me to drive him to a hardware store so that he could purchase some “bolt cutters” to remove the padlock from the back of the truck!
By this time, it was dark, and he decided it would be best to just come back in the morning to load my belongings. I decided that night that I would not be allowing this man to drive away with everything I own.
To date I am out over $1500. The company refuses to return any of my money.
I also found out that for $200, U-haul can provide you with 2 persons for 3 hours to help load or unload your move. I would highly recommend this option.

While we regret that this gentlemen had a difficult move this review is not accurate because we did not book or perform this move. Long-distance move from Texas to Florida

Entire Pick-Up of Goods.

Some family and I used Trans-United to move our small 1 bedroom apartment home to a home in florida. The pick-up movers came four hours late and then complained that we had well over double our "original" statment. This "original" statment had been changed buy the moving company five times, with fewer items listed each time. The movers constantly complained the entire day about how we had done such a bad job at telling them our estimate, how they would have brought more people (There were two by the way) and how it was unfair that we were upset when the price estimate they gave us was wrong so we ended up with over double our original amount($1975).After those issues we have the fact of what happend to our stuff when it arrived. Please note, the people who dropped off the items were generally concerned with how bad this went and were appalled with the missing objects.First of all, we had many damaged goods: One leg broken off of an antique table, obviously smashed off.One bookcase with holes gashed into the back of it.Two endtables missing their glass tops, one etched with brass. One video game case, similar to a bookcase but with metal holders for game systems and controllers, the metal holders were smashed and the case fell apart immediatly.Numerous boxes that since we packed were not covered by their policy. So they proceeded to smash and crush the boxes as hard as they could, many of the boxes came completly destroyed with many valuables lost inside. Once again not covered. One bookcase with scrapes along the sides of it.Second of all we hae the missing objects:One Television 36in Sony, never arrived. One wodden chest with approx. $5000 dollars worth of coins, made of silver and gold inside, a family heirloom, that was neer accounted for and I will NOT be receiving any payment for.Lastly we have the falsified condition objects:One vacuum cleaner, listed as scratched dented and working condition unknown. There were no scratches or dents on it and it worked fine, this was to cover themselves if something happened. One CD rack, listed as rusted scratched and dented. It came just as it was, beautiful solid black color, no rust, no dents. One couch, listed as torn, soiled and stained. It came as it was, no tears stails or markings of any kind. One Guitar Case, listed as contents unknown. The tape and seals we had around the guitar case had been broken so it was obvious that the movers had looked inside, inside was, what a shocker a guitar. These are just some of the atrocities that we had to deal with, we lost thousands of dollars worth of our belongings, many of them irreplacable, I am going to fle another claim form with more pictures since I still have not gotten a responce from Trans-United about any of my belongings.Overall:You would be beter off taking a wheelbarrow with your belongings in it and walking it cross-country rather than trust this company. If there are any developments in my situation I will post them, I am also posting some of the pictures of my belongings to help you understand.

Long-distance move from Florida to Tennessee

Trans United - Scam Artists.

This company is a scam.  The driver and packers who showed up to pack my parents for their move to Tennessee did an awful job packing, resulting in broken collectibles with much sentimental value.  Just prior to them finishing packing, the driver informed my Dad that it was customary for homeowners to give the driver and all on the crew (a total of 5 people) a tip of $100 each.  Of course, my Dad didn’t fall for that, why would anyone pay an additional $500 on top of the exorbitant cost to move to begin with?  It is of NO coincidence that my parents’ belongings were delivered not one, but TWO days LATE.  Adding insult to injury, this caused delivery to occur on Mother’s Day.  The broken collectibles, previously mentioned, were not the only damaged goods.  Dishes were broken and other items as well.  Last, but by no means, worst, is that BOTH of my parents’ TV’s were missing.  Both were flat screen TV’s, one at 36” and another at 50”.  My gut tells me those TV’s are sitting in someone else’s home as I type.  The driver told my parent’s they never picked the TV’s up and, as of this date my parents are still waiting for a check to replace their TV’s.  But the most disgusting part of this whole story is the HUGE difference between the costs this despicable company quoted my parents and the actual price they had to pay just to get the movers to take their belongings off their truck – on MOTHER’S DAY!!  My parents were quoted by weight, and ensured that the truck was weighed before they loaded their belongings, and then weighed again after loading.  But my parents weren’t charged by weight, they were charged by cubic feet, which DOUBLED THE ESTIMATED COST.  I would not recommend ANYONE use this company.  This info will also be posted on my blog, my twitter and my Facebook page.   .
