The French Van Man

Neil is inspirational and thoroughly organised. I had looked into lots of other removal options but the reviews for The French Van Man were positive. Although a little more expensive than other companies, the extra cost was more than worth it. Neil provides a bespoke service which is geared towards meeting individual needs and he was able to work round our particular timings. The move was completely relaxed and stress free yet accomplished with military precision. Using the French Van Man is akin to using a trusted personal friend and it was an absolute pleasure to have him do the job. I have no hesitation in recommending him and he has contributed to the warm and fond memories of us moving from England to France. Although not listed in the options when writing this review, we moved from Chelmsford to Perpignan and not Montpellier. It was an amazing experience. A thousand thanks to you, Neil!

Probably one of the most upsetting experiences I have ever had. After arriving four hours late, due to traffic the mover, and in this case owner of the company, decided to lay into me after speaking to me for about five seconds. He accused me of being a liar because I said that I had not received his calls the day before and also accused me of lying about living on the first floor. After he found out I lived on the first floor, even though I stated clearly early on that I lived on the first floor and not the ground floor, the mover stormed off and said that he did not want to work me as I was a liar. Completely stunned at this behavior, that was so completely irrational and out of order, I had to run after him begging and pleading for him to please help me move my things as it was the last day of my lease. He proceeded to make a scene in the street, including going to random people on the street and complaining about me. After maybe 15 minutes of me profusely apologizing, even though I honestly did not even know what I had to apologize for, as I am not the 'liar' he was making me out to be, he finally decided to move my things. I even told the mover over and over again that I would pay the extra fee that was required for me living on the 1st floor, and he yelled at me saying he did not want my money. By this point I was in tears and completely and totally distraught, but I was at least relieved that I was going to have my boxes moved. However his demeaning behavior did not end here. He proceeded to tell me that I had to move all of the boxes downstairs as it was 'clearly stated on the website'. He then told me he would wait downstairs while I carried the 33 boxes down, apart from the extremely heavy ones which he said he would carry down. While I was carrying the boxes down hecontinuedto verbally harass me, while I continued to cry, telling me what I liar I am, and everything else he thought was wrong with me. I am a 24 year old girl who had a much older man verbally abusing me, reducing me to tears, and behaving in the most inappropriate and unprofessional manner that I have ever witnessed. The abuse did not even stop there. I made sure that I had somebody with me in Paris so that this man did not take advantage of me again. However the company later decide to ask me to pay another 280 pounds because I 'lied' about which floor I lived on, and because I 'did not' help move the boxes down. I refused to pay the extra because not only are their allegations completely false, the distress the mover put me through was so unbelievably acceptable, there was no way I would have paid them. So even though at the time of the move I told the mover that I would pay whatever extra he wanted, he yelled in my face saying he did not want my money, and then later had the audacity to ask me for said money he supposedly did not want. Overall an absolutely horrific experience, and as any young woman will know, being verbally abused by a man in such a manner is a terrifying experience. I would never in a million years recommend this company.

This company have just delivered my household from Cambridge to Strasbourg and we are all so pleased with the guys that carried out our removal. The vans could not have been cleaner x 2 and the guys more helpful. I have to say that my wife and I do follow reviews from other people as it can be difficult buying a service on the internet. We were concerned about the negative review we found but assume that person was a one off and obviously in need of medication as this company are brilliant.

We were very pleased with the service we received in moving a selection of personal and household items to south-west France in April 2015. We had very friendly communication right from the start and felt confident that everything would go according to plan. This was after we were let down by another operator who appears to have gone out of business. Moving stuff can be stressful but not in this case. It was straightforward and even a pleasure! We paid for half a van but realised that we could have included more items as there was plenty of room. That said, the quote we had was cheaper than one other we sourced. Pick up and delivery went very smoothly and indeed quickly, and all our items, some quite fragile, arrived in good order. The French Van Man had a small problem in locating our house in France, but this isn’t surprising given the rural location, and he took it in good humour despite driving to and fro a few times. Apologies for the poor instructions! We will definitely use this company again and are happy to recommend it to others.

This company carried out our removal in August 2013 and from our initial contact to delivery they were amazing! A great company with friendly helpful staff. David the owner kept in communication with us during the removal and also rang us when the two vans were an hour away. For anyone moving to or from France you need look no further. I also have to mention that the quotations we received from The French Van Man http://www.thefrenchvanman.com/  where the best priced we had and the closest one to them was £500 pounds more. The French Van Man carried out our removal from our home in Reigate to Pau and they were quite unbelievable! The guys were so helpful and really could not do enough for us. David who dealt with our enquiry was very professional and also I have to say they were the best price we received. We would very much recommend them to anyone moving to France. I forgot to mention..this business has a very high reputation in Reigate where they are based. Having researched them for 3 weeks along with other companies they where the best at responding to my emails and phone calls. Very professional!
