They absolutely butchered my new home

I would never, ever, ever recommend this company. They sent a sub-contracted crew called JCB Movers that specialise in "container unloads" to handle my job. Even the person in charge at EuroGroup called it a "container unload." JCB had a small truck branded "JCB Transport" and a larger leased truck. The crew was not uniformed. The "carpet protection" was the only home protection used, and it came from a thin, narrow, flimsy roll of film like the kind you use when you're wrapping your suitcase for checked baggage. It quickly bunched up and became more of a hazard than a help.

Everything came off the truck in no particular order and in a haphazard way. Heavy furniture came into the house at the middle and end after many rooms were already occupied with boxes. Rugs came in last and if it had not been for the good graces of John, the foreman, the rugs would have been left rolled up in the residence. To their credit they did manage to get rugs down in the living room and master bedroom, but they made life infinitely harder by doing so after already unloading heavy sofas and the master bedroom set.

The worst was the attempted movement of a dresser and media cabinet upstairs, which is what caused all the damage. If the movers had taken a rational approach and moved heavy items first we could have made a different decision regarding the media cabinet and left it downstairs in the office. But because of the haphazard, unplanned nature of the unloading that was not possible -- the room was already occupied.

The stair corridor was damaged twice -- once with a chest of drawers, and then with the media cabinet. After the first incident I was immediately presented with a written waiver of damages and asked to sign it on the spot. I can assure you that I have not waived any rights to recover from the subsequent damage to the stair corridor from the movement of the media cabinet and for the damage I later discovered in the rest of the house. Those heavy items should have been wrapped for unloading, as any experienced and knowledgeable residential company would have known and done.

When I confronted EuroGroup with all of this, they dodged responsibility and tried to tell me what a great, experienced group JCB Transport is. Then they peppered me with multiple requests for photos, video, etc. As I write this it's been 10 working days since I complained and all I'm getting is more delay and excuses -- no offer of repair or reimbursement.

Their website is nothing but fake marketing. It has a nice photo of a large lorry with EUROGROUP painted on the side. I never saw that. It shows uniformed movers handling boxes. I never saw that. It shows all kinds of certifications and industry memberships. At least one of those is false, as I subsequently learned.

This is an absolutely lousy company and I'd dump my household goods off a container in the ocean before I would use them again.

What Secure Box?

Stringed along for 2 weeks as they “lost” my secure box and other high value items. There are zero controls when goods change hands once in their possession. They couldn’t even evidence what was received or loaded on their truck even though the sending party and shipping company confirmed all goods were accounted for on their end. I’d avoid using them!

Cowboys.

These people are cowboys. Don’t be fooled with so called association membership. Terrible experience, they caused £14000 of damage to furniture. Crew were incompetent idiots. They used the wrong sized vehicle, the driver could not turn the truck around because the road was to narrow and damaged a bus stop police were called. The company is run by a family who use dubious methods. They refused to pay their debts or apologise for the appalling service.
Avoid this lot at all costs, euro group international movers are cowboys.

Their packing is horendous.

Chose this company as the rep they sent to meet with us was lovely and competent. All the other big shipping companies' estimates were comparable. By the time of our move she was no longer with the company. 1st flag.
I had an emergency in the US, so we had to use their packing service. Our items had to go into a storage unit, and we weren't able to get to some of our boxes for over a month. First couple of boxes opened found us in shock seeing our expensive clothes (leather skirts, silk shirt, suit jackets) rolled into a ball and shoved in a box. That was our 1st point of contact, where we just pretty much heard a load of crap about the time period being past 30 days, etc. Not even a sincere apology. 7 months later we received the rest of our storage locker. They did a nice job wrapping most of our big items, with the exception of a large scuff on our bed frame.
However, what sent me a bit over the edge was finding my Laura Ashley lampshade stuffed into a plastic IKEA box. It was wrapped in paper, but not covered, and not boxed. The lampshade was too big for the box to begin with so the inner lining of it was cracked across the whole inner shade. Totally inexcusable.
If I had read more reviews like mine, I definitely would not have chosen Euro Group.

Terrible - Avoid at All Costs.

We contracted a company within the US to transport our personal belongings back to the UK. They in turn contracted Eurogroup.
Even though we paid the US company up front in full for the move, we ended up paying Eurogroup circa £8000 more. They literally held us hostage and wouldn't agree to schedule the delivery of our belongings until we had physically paid all of their additional charges (and these additional charges themselves increased from around £3000 to around £8000). These additional charges were on top of the $20000 we had already paid in the US.
They are a terrible company to deal with. Avoid at all costs.

One star as as I can't give less

Truly horrendous company steer well clear.

Yesterday the container finally arrived, was due at 9am but didn't arrive until 9.30. The packing crew also due at 9am arrived at 10.20. Two young men one with his hand in a splint had the task of unpacking a 20ft container full of furniture, some of which was heavy. It was never going to go well.

Prior to the containers arrival it was scheduled for delivery on Monday at 9am. However, Eurogroup cancelled delivery at 10am due to no one booking the required haulage vehicle! However, this admin error meant I was charged £180! Why? Well if I'm honest I don't know as no one has explained to me how this is my fault they have simply said pay up or we won't deliver! Nothing like holding people ransom in order to take them for more money.

The house was packed up by a team of 8 men and it took 2 days yet Eurogroup send 2 men to unpack the container and to add to the fun there is a time frame...3 hours. You have 3 hours to empty the container before you start being charged extra!

So needless to say I ended up having to unload boxes as well. Not ideal at all considering my hand is also in a splint due to having surgery only a few weeks ago.

All communication with the moving company either from me or the guys they employ were dismissed. When I called and said I was concerned about their well being unloading the heavy stuff just two of them they told me if the guys aren't complaining then it's fine. No concern whatsoever for health and safety.

I had been so happy with the service in Dubai and this has truly tainted that experience and I will be making a complaint against the companies involved this end. What I would say is if you are relocating I would strongly recommend asking the company your agent uses at the other end and researching them before you commit to anything! I have complained to the company in Dubai I signed with and they don't care in the least bit I am extremely angry and upset about the entire experience.

EuroGroup are a joke, they try everything they can to make more money from the customer and to add insult to injury they are rude, unhelpful and truly disinterested in anything other than the bottom line. Don 't give them the time of day.

Absolutely terrible. Use literally anyone else.

Avoid like the plague. Criminal

I'm not able to give zero stars. In brief:

Charged us £3,000 once our shipment arrived in the UK despite us already paying the £10,000 total in the country of origin for the full service.

Held us to ransom until we paid, charging us a daily rental charge until we did.

Did not liaise with the original shippers.

Lied about the date of arrival of our shipment and charged us excessive amounts of quay rental fees and demurrage. Held us to ransom until we paid.

Failed to answer or acknowledge any of our queries.

Provided us with broken furniture, glued back together including sofa legs. Specifically unwrapped only the broken items but did not point out the breaks so that we would sign off on them. Did not unwrap any further boxes.

Lied about customs entry. Refused to provide forms.

Failed to remove our shipment from the quayside accruing over month of rental fees. Did not communicate this until after the fact, cited problems with covid and lack of drivers. Blackmailed us into footing the bill. Opportunists seeing a chance to claw back lost revenue by fleecing customers.

We did not pick Eurogroup, we chose another company who used Eurogroup. There is really nothing positive to say about the customer service or any element of their business. Appalling, dishonest and downright criminal. Avoid like the plague.
