Great Experience!

Moved from from London to outside of London recently. Ali Raza and his team (another gentleman, didn't catch his name were early and very helpful during the move. Great service! Also Lyla in the office answered all my questions and was available throughout the entire process. Would use this company again for sure.

Please do not use this company!

I am writing this review to try and save people the stress of using this appalling firm. They caused over £1000 of damage to my personal goods, damaged to the property i was leaving and then when i reported this to them, they called me a liar (that is a direct quote). The "team" did not wear PPE at all during any of the move when they were face to face with me which is obviously a massive concern, but then when i challenged them over this they called me a liar. the ironic thing is that they smashed the back of a £750 child wardrobe, then put it back together with masking tape to hide the damage rather than own up to it. They knocked a light switch off of the wall at the old property and caused 5 or 6 deep digs into the wall as they clearly didn't know how to move furniture properly. None of the the settees or mattresses were wrapped in protective covering (as is standard practise) and as a result we ended up with dirt smears across both mattresses and one sofa. They also did not wear foot coverings, instead opting to tread mud throughout the carpets

They also took a very expensive Lego of my young sons, and threw it into a box smashing it to pieces which my son is distraught about. They actually admitted to doing that on the day which in hindsight is quite surprising seeing as they have denied everything else, as have the company despite me providing photographic proof.

Pleas stay well away from this company, they are truly awful, know nothing about customer service and you will risk your goods being damaged by using them.

A true disgrace of a firm and one you should not touch with a bargepole.

We moved this scoundrel last week and yes there was some damage to minor items which we offered to put through our insurance. We can put any damages through our insurance but of course, he could not provide any evidence, especially of his so called expensive Lego. The fact is the move actually went well aside from a few minor impairments but the customer wanted a 50% refund which we refused so hence this ridiculous review.

Do not use them.

The handlers arrived half an hour late. When I asked if their previous job ran over they replied that they didn’t have any other jobs that day. In other words, no excuse for being late.

Secondly, they were the laziest handlers I’ve ever come across. They would only take lighter items, I had to carry the heavier ones which resulted in bad bruising over my arms. One of them didn’t even come into the flat because “he was keeping an eye on the truck”.

Lastly, they were very impolite and in no rush whatsoever. It seemed as if they were slow on purpose so that I pay them for an extra hour. 15 mins before the 2 hours were up they wanted to start discussing how I want to go about getting an extra hour. They were so bad that I’d rather finished carrying myself than keep them any longer

All in all very disappointing service and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

Official company response

Yes the guys were late 23 minutes to be exact due to an accident on M25 but this is a totally unfair review as it was an hourly job with minimum 2 hour booking just the driving part was 45 minutes from CM14 to E20, loading side was 3rd floor with lift and unloading side was 2.5 floors NO LIFT it was about 1 luton van worth of stuff and customer expects to load, drive and unload within 2 hours which is impossible customer description of items was 10 boxes, TV and tv unit with some small items which was completely incorrect we didn't complain about extra items as it was hourly job but cheap customer wanted to finish within 2 hours, when the time was about to run out customer asked us take heavier items upstairs and leave other items on ground floor and now he is complaining about bruising WOW. We shouldn't have booked the job in the first place anyway lesson learn't.

Refused to compensate for damaged goods/furniture.

I am very disappointed with the way I am treated by this Company (Skyline Remover)
They are very unprofessional when dealing with customers.
They lie to customers to cover themselves e.g quite a lot of my furniture were damaged during removal from London to Coventry.
The team of two persons dismantled my two double wardrobes and a double bed in less than 1 hour. They ripped apart the wardrobes instead of unscrewing the panels, causing unrepairable damage.
They also damaged one of my sofas and many other items.
They refused to accept responsibility for damages to my furniture, stating that the claim form which they emailed to me should have been returned within 7 days.
As far as I was aware, there was no discussion or documentation with regards to a specific time frame in which to return this form.
I tried phoning them on several occasions but this number was not accessible.
Emails were sent via the email address provided but no replies were received up to date.
I've paid £998.00 to this company to remove my furniture/goods as I believed that were who they said they were.
I now have to spend more money to replace the damaged items.
This has been carrying on for about 6 weeks since removal on the 27th April.

I would like to inform anyone who is thinking of hiring this company, to think twice before doing so as I would not like you to go through what I have had to.

Service cost: £998

Official company response

We find this review to be wholly inaccurate and grossly unfair. Our porters are highly experienced and thus were able to dismantle the items swiftly. We moved their possessions into storage and then another local removal company moved them into their home The fact that the 2nd removal company could not reassemble the items does not mean we damaged them.

Regarding the insurance claim, yes we did inform the customer that the form had to be returned within 7 days of the move as we tell all customers this fact but the customer. Peggy insisted I send her a copy through the post which we did and she then went on holiday for a couple of weeks or so and it was after a period of 3 weeks after the move when I got a call from her ex partner asking how to fill out the form and I informed him it was too late. Apart from the customers ex partner calling me I have never heard from the customer and she is simply lying when she says our phone number is inaccessible otherwise how could we operate as a business without a working phone number.
Unfortunately, there are dishonest customers who use their moves to make false claims and when they do not succeed become spiteful and write untrue reviews.

Long-distance move from London, Greater London to Liverpool, Merseyside

Untruthful Business, avoid this company.

-They came to my house 30-minutes late without any notice and nobody answered when I tried to call to check what happened.
-I have booked a 3.5 ton Luton Van and additional porter (1 driver + 2 men) as they suggested as I have many books and to bring things down from 3rd floor
-When they finally arrived to my flat a guy looked around stuffs at our rooms (all packed in advance and ready to remove) and started to load the stuffs to the Van
-In the middle of job they told me my stuffs will be over weighed so they may get the penalty if they were caught by police. They asked me to sign that I shall pay for the penalty if it happened, I did.
-They did carry it out but again soon after they told me they can not the job so I have to hire another van or big truck.
-They stopped the job and I talked to the office. They asked me to hire another Van and man for additional cost of £750. I refused.
-The guys on the site offered me that they can do the job if I pay extra £500 when they finished the job without being caught by police. Later lowered to £400 when I refused.
-It means that they could do the job as planned but they were trying to rip off by manipulating the situation and threatening no removal today if I don't accept the offer.
-I offered £100 as a bonus if they did the job without paying the penalty but they refused and run away after leaving all stuffs in corridor of every floors. I did not even see their leaving.
-The office man refused to return my deposit as I did not help them to bring the loaded stuffs back to my flat.
-I said that loading and unloading is their job although I have offered to help it to finish asap but it is not my obligation.
-They again to refuse to return deposit by saying that I did not give full details on the removal but I have given full addresses and floors of the both flat. Also I noticed that I have many books but all my stuffs could fit into one Luton Van as I did it same some months ago. (Furthermore I have thrown away many boxes of books as I have experienced a bit hardship last time.) Anyway Skyline actually reconfirmed all my details when they asked me pay a deposit.
-This is a ridiculous excuse and untruthful business attitude that left us a mess. Whether I booked with them a month ago or a day before my moving, if they are in doubt whether they could fulfill the job they should have inspected my stuffs and suggested any other options before asking me pay a deposit and starting the job.

Service cost: £850

Official company response

All deposits are non-refundable. The only reason we
could not complete the move was that his goods were too heavy and we could not
have loaded them up in the vehicle without exceeding the weight limit which
would have resulted in a fine of around £500. We explained this to the customer
who was not willing to pay the additional cost and we told the other option was
to hire another vehicle which would have obviously cost more money.

Of course we do appreciate that customers do not want to pay more but that was not our choice. The situation demanded either extra payment for the fine or the additional
vehicle. The customer initially seemed to understand the situation we were in
but it was only because we did not give him a refund that he has written this
unfair negative review.

Furthermore, this customer had booked with another
company but called us on Wednesday because that company had cancelled the
booking at the last minute and I am guessing they knew this move would be problematic, we should have been suspicious too.

Chaotic, more money paid on day and items damaged.

No PPE used. Items damaged and unable to claim on insurance as seemingly there is a form I did not fill out. Some items still unlocated at new house! Personally I would NOT recommend at all - look for a more professional firm rather than a group of men in unmarked vans!

This is really an unfair review. The move was a substantial one requiring an 18T truck and 5 removal men who did arrive on time and worked very hard (on the hottest day of the year). The customer's only real complaint was regarding what she herself called 'small damages' , it is true we could not put them through insurance as she did not read the terms and conditions on our website ( but she had booked with us in mid June so she plenty of time to do so, regardless, we did in fact offer her compensation which she rejected as being 'paltry'. Also, of course the removal team were wearing casual clothing and shoes as they do physical labour and not expected to turn up in a tie and suit.

DO NOT USE!

Had someone over in order to give us a quote, & I can’t fault Lyla in the office who I had dealings with; but that’s where it stops!

2 guys turned up an hour late without a van! They then complained they thought we were moving to a house & not a 3rd floor flat (all noted as part of the quote).

A van eventually turned up & the driver demanded payment (despite having already paid in full)

In total it took over 8 hours to move us 1.5 miles down the road!

Paid for furniture to be dismantled & reassembled, but they failed to rebuild and had to do ourselves after they left.

Bookshelves and one of the beds were also damaged. Absolutely terrible service.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: £954

Official company response

This is a really unfair review. Yes, there was a misunderstanding between the porters in the beginning but it is not correct to say they turned up without a vehicle or failed to fulfill their duties. If there really was damage done we could have put that through insurance but we were not informed of that. The move did take 8 hours but that is normal especially since the customer moved to the 3rd floor without a lift so of course, it took time for the porters to go back and forth but we completed the move within the time frame.

Very fast and efficient.

Was told they would arrive between 8 and 9am and they arrived at 8:02, moved everything I had in the one bed house, in really quicvk time, then waited about 10 mins at my request while we waited for my partner to arrive to unload more stuff!
After then 7 hour drive to newcastle both guys showed no sign of slowing down and unloaded everything into the rooms we asked for with a smile and lightning speed.

Highly recommended.

Local move - avoid!

Arranged a local move (3 miles) with Skyline Removals to move our furniture. Advised when I called that we needed to vacate the property by 1.30pm. Removal men booked to arrive at 12.30pm, bringing a Luton van. Received a call at 12.20pm to say they wouldn't arrive until 1.45pm which I said was not feasible. Called head office and was told that 'these things happen' and that we simply had to wait - we were left with no other option! Was told that the would arrive in 40 minutes, they didn't. Was then todl it would be anoth 20 minutes, again they didn't. Each time there was a different excuse given from a broken down van to traffic to 'these things just happen sometimes'. Men eventually arrived at 2pm with a Sprint van, impossible to fit all furniture in to the van and it took much longer than expected. The men themselves were really helpful but the service and the customer experience from the office was appalling. Definitely wouldn't recommend for a short move.

Highly Recommended.

I am moving my house after few years. I was worried to move because I had a lot of stuff and fragile items. With my children it is really hard to find time to organize my moving. Lucky I have found Skyline Removals. They were really helpful and quickly understood my requirements. When the surveyor came around, he explained how they will organize my move and they provided me free quotation. They came one day before to pack all my furniture. I was surprise by their fast work and professionalism, and the next day, they came with a big lorry and they moved everything smoothly. I will definitely recommend this company to all my friends and family members, colleagues and you :-) Thank you Skyline Removal and their crew.
