Scotsman With a Van

The company rep visited the property from which we were moving as it was an upper conversion of a Victorian house with a long driveway. I wanted them to see any potential problems with access etc.   I was given a very competitive price for the job and on the day, they turned up 15 minutes early having telephoned to let me know they were on the way.   The move was carried out very efficiently by three men and a modern 7.5 Ton van with electric tail lift.  All furniture was carefully wrapped in blankets and tied securely to rails on the side of the van.   The guys were very polite and good natured and the entire move (only 9 miles) was completed by 2.30pm.  Everything arrived intact, not one breakage.   I have nothing but praise for this company and would not hesitate recommending them.

I used Scotsman with a Van to move from Glasgow to Basingstoke.
They are an appalling company, with no moral code.
Their quote confirmed goods were insured up to £20,000, and that the quote included dismantling of dining tables etc.
However upon arrival, even though all items well wrapped, they had damaged the dining table legs and had smashed a £3000 television.
I had to give up chasing them for reimbursement as got nowhere and had a serious illness in the family which took priority, but they eventually just ignored my emails even when I threatened trading standards on them.
The delivery drivers are polite, but this company is a sham - don't risk your valuable items with them.

Fantatic experience with this professional removal company. From the intial call to the office, to the final part of the removal project the team were polite and professional and could not do enough to help us.  The staff were friendly and were in matching uniform. They brought additional boxes and crates to assist us on the day of the removal.  A full set of paperwork was sent to us through the post including a copy of their terms and conditions. Great value for money and I  Would be happy to recommend them to anyone.

I used this firm twice and have nothing but the highest praise for the Scotsman team. They arrived on time on the morning of the moves and were efficient, friendly and unfailingly polite. Our first move was delayed by hours and they were still helpful despite unpacking at 10pm!  They had all our possessions packed efficiently and I have since unpacked and everything in order. I would also like to mention that we were kept informed during the various stages of the move in a professional and friendly manner. I would highly recommend this firm.

Firstly they nearly destroyed their Luton van (with our stuff in it) by trying to drive it into a space that was two feet too low, even as I tried to tell the driver to stop he just looked at me like I had two heads and kept going!! (he did stop when the van started buckling!)

All was okay until a £200 glass cupboard door was left unsecured in the back of the van, it fell and shattered, was told by the men working it be covered under their insurance.

Then they sent out a joiner to repair the door and fit new glass. The joiner himself said he couldn't do anything and we should get a new door bought. We were then told that their insurance only covered items up to £75 but they would give us £90 as a show of goodwill!!
