Regent Removals

Company ceased trading on 31st August 2016. Contacted me to say apply for a refund then closed website and phone line down so no way to contact them. They are still on companies house as active so I assume they are planning on trying to get voluntarily struck off as 2 of the directors have done with previous businesses they have owned. Unless I get a refund I will be blocking this and pushing for bankruptcy of the business as they can not pay their debts. Left us in the lurch a few days before we were moving and having to find an alternative company at short notice., They must have known they were going bust but took the money anyway.

I would like to say how professional this firm is from the moment I enquired for a price to them politely telephoning me to ask how the proposed sale was going. in this day and age not many people care about whether they get your business or not, this firm definitely cares. Two removal men arrived on time, they were very polite and accommodating. We had a large sofa which wouldn't go out the front door so they took the door off and wheels of the sofa. They were all put back properly. I would certainly recommend this firm to anyone.

Quoted £1,854 by Regent Removals for 4 staff to load/unload up 2,000 cubic feet for a four bedroom house in Horsham (not Brighton).

Couldn't believe it when they turned up with 1 Luton van (600 cubic feet) and a Ford transit (400 cubic feet), half the quoted capacity. It was clearly insufficient. We even left behind our entire main bedroom furniture, a large triple wardrobe, a double wardrobe, a large chest of drawers and two bedside cabinets.

A third vehicle was initially promised in approximately an hour, but which turned out be several hours. In calls to Regent Removals they kept suggesting that they were doing us a favour by making the effort to arrange another van for us!

Eventually, another Luton van arrived but they appeared to be totally unprepared, failing to provide a suitable clothes carrier. We were forced to wrap the remainder of our clothes in dog throws!

The final van arrived at our new home at around 8.30pm. Luckily our son was able to pick up the keys from the estate agent before they closed.

We complained about the abysmal service and, despite receiving an email that stated "I can see there was a string of errors made", and "I am mortified to see how badly things went wrong and I am extremely sorry this happened to you", we were provided with a token gesture of compensation of £100, 5% of the removal costs!

For various reasons we were unable to respond immediately. However, when we did, Regent Removal's response was discourteous, only willing to discuss it face to face in their office and pointing out that if I share my experience of this company online "may I remind you that you also have interests online on which reviews can be posted." This is not the reasonable and professional response that I would expect from a company that has acknowledged how badly things went wrong!

This day was one of the most traumatic experiences my wife and I have experienced. I would never use this company again or recommend them to anyone else.

Regent Removals quoted to pack all my goods ( did not complete job) and to move all my goods (did not complete job).
They called me at 7pm the day before we moved demanding more money. They threatened to just send two Luton vans rather than 3, and just move what they could.
On the day, further negotiations took place over a number of hours, I had to agree to pay more or they would not have completed the job. They did send 3 Lutons, but should have sent the one large vehicle (to cope with volume quoted for) as one item was too big to fit through the back of a Luton. It remains at the old house. They promised to deliver in a few days. They did not. They have not responded to my calls or emails. This missing item is actually impacting on the health of my pets.
Most of the removal men did not speak English, so communication on the day was difficult.
Some seemed to take a 5 hour lunch break. The last two vans did not turn up at my new house until the evening, with reduced manpower. They finally left us after 9pm.
As they were very disorganised, boxes turned up before furniture. We have therefore had to move boxes and heavy furniture around ourselves, not easy for a household of females, and not ideal when I paid a removal company to do this for me.
They did not cover any of the carpets. These ended up in a filthy condition in both houses.

We were absolutely delighted with the performance of Regent removals team last Friday.  2 smart young men arrived in 2 vans, 15 minutes before the arranged time.  Initially, I was sure that there would not be enough room to pack in all of our belongings, but I was to be proved wrong.   After a quick look round the house they started the hard work, and within about 2 hours they had everything out of the house and into the vans.  We were downsizing to a 2 bed house from a 4 bed one, so I knew that there might be a few problems moving some of our larger items in.  There were indeed problems, but I was amazed and delighted by the persistence and determination shown by Regent's men to get the job done.  I'm sure other teams would have given up trying to get our beloved sofas through the small doors, and up the stairs, but their guys did not give up. Only one item (a large divan base) defeated them, however we were relieved that they were able to dispose of it for us at no extra charge.There were no breakages or major damage, and I would not hesitate to recommend Regent Removals as an excellent company to anyone.

We had several quotes and surveys done prior to our move and felt ver confident with the customer service from Regent than others that came round.  We were really hoping they would be cheapest but they were'nt, only not much in it.
We decided not to go with the cheapest and chose Regent for our move as cost is not the most important factor in moving if you want your home to arrive in one piece.
Regents guys were uniformed, very pleasant and polite. They moved all our things onto lorries in about 3 hours then we had that pregnant pause for a few hours until the call we had completed. Another 3 hours off loading and the guys were genuinlely interested in getting our things to the right rooms etc.
Great company and would definately use them again.

Moved to Wittersham, Kent using Regent Removals and very glad I chose them.
Firstly, the office staff I dealt with were helpful and efficient with their quote. I compared their prices with 2 other local companies and they were the cheapest so I decided to accept their quote.
On the day, my house purchase fell through at the last minute. I spoke with one of the managers in the office who went to great lengths to ensure that I could leave my belongings in storage until the completion occurred, even when I told him I didn't know how long this would be.
It turned out to be 4 days after the original completion date but the team arrived at my new house without a fuss. Time wasn't an issue and they placed everything exactly where I asked them to, even moving a few items after I changed my mind!
Overall, a supposed to be stressful day made easy by the whole team - start to finish. Everyone I dealt with was well mannered, professional and most importantly knowledgable. I would not hesitate to use these guys again in the future, and have passed their number to my sister and aunt who are moving locally soon.
