Reads Removals

My parents recently used Reads for their move and found the removal men to be hard working, reliable and on time. They did not stop to take a break and were very considerate by leaving 2 chairs till last so my parents could sit whilst their belongings were being loaded. Reads were very helpful when completion did not happen on time and had to keep belongings overnight, safe and secure and delivered with no fuss or hassle the following day. The removal men (one called Paul, sorry did not get the other ones name) were polite and I would absolutely recommend Reads, thank you.

We had a couple of quotes, and Reads were competitive. Chap came out to check what was needed beforehand. Very professional, prompt and good advice too.
It took a couple of days to pack everything up, and I have to say that the team worked extremely hard all day each day and there was a lot of heavy stuff to be shifted. Reads did all the packing and were careful, but not slow either. Amazing.
No breakages, efficient and hard working.
My son has also used Reads, for a small local move recently- that went smoothly too. It didn't matter to him what day he moved, within a couple of weeks, so Reads chose the morning and gave him a really competitive price.

We comissioned this company to move us to Europe.  Shocking customer service by manager - when we complained we were fobbed off and told that as far as they were concerned they had provided "a good service".  Very little communication to put us at ease about our move - any emails we did get were short and quite frankly, unprofessional.  We ended up getting another company for the bit to move us to Europe.   Removal guys were nice enough, and I don't feel I can say negative things about them.  It was just the management that lacked any professionalism.  Ended up going to the British Association of Removers to try and resolve the complaint. Still ongoing   I am not usually one to complain (and I mean that!) but I could not stand by and let someone else go through the trauma we went through.  This company needs to send their staff on courses to learn how to deal with customers.  I would have been quite happy to have had an apology and try and resolve, but they have made that impossible   Disgusting and sadly I cannot recommend them.

Reads Removals service was second to none. The staff were helpful, friendly and professional from start to finish. We were initially given a quote for a moving date that fell through but weeks later we got back in touch with a new moving date - with fairly short notice - and the quote did not change. We were also not as prepared as we would have liked, due to a death in the family, and were a bit worried about it. The removals men were fantastic. They quickly found out what we wanted to do and started work with little input from us. They were packed up very quickly and unpacked on the other side even more quickly. Everything was put where we wanted it - nothing was too much trouble. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Reads Removals an excellent service at a very reasonable price.

We used Reads in July to move from Peterborough to Essex and the service exceeded all of our expectations. I had looked into several removal companies but choose Reads because of their price. To be honest I was a little skeptical because there were a couple of bad reviews online, but thought I would take a chance because there were no recent write ups and I thought 'how bad could they be?' I was more than pleasantly surprised, because the team sent to move us (David & Paul), were punctual, friendly, organised and professional. No request was too much trouble and they even went the extra mile to re-wrap any furniture that wasn't done well enough by me. I could not have wished for a better moving experience.

All of the planning and everyone I dealt with over the phone went smoothly and I can't thank them enough..

We have just moved home after nearly 30 years in our existing home. We chose to use Reads packing and removal service after a meeting with Sarah at our home. We immediately felt comfortable and confident that Reads was the company for us. Their price was very reasonable and the service was exceptional.
Every member of their team introduced themselves and shook hands upon arrival. They packed every item with care and attention and we did not suffer one breakage. The removal team planned ahead for every piece of large or difficult furniture that needed to be placed. They did not have a " Bull in a china shop " approach and avoided damage to our decor at both properties.
I could not praise Reads Removals highly enough and have already recommended them to friends. Thank you so much for taking the stress out of what can be a very difficult experience.
