Pleasant Moving of Boston

These guys drastically underestimated (said 2 hours, but somehow took 4) the time.  I had received competitive time estimates from other movers, but ultimately went with PM because a little cheaper per hour.  Stupid me.  Everything was in boxes and furniture was taken apart.  It was only moved into a storage unit just 3 miles down the road - no stairs or any big furniture or anything complicated.  It's ridiculous this move took more time than my last move (which included an hour drive between apartments).
That being said, the move went smoothly and the job was done well (nothing broken).  Just don't trust the price estimate of these guys if you're trying to be thrifty..

My wife found an extremely large and heavy 14 foot window bench on Craigslist and the owner said that I had to pick it up that day or somebody else was going to take it.  I scrambled to find some movers and a truck and ran across Pleasant Moving.I called them up at 10:00am and explained that I needed a team at 1pm that same day to move this abnormally heavy built-in window bench from Needham MA to Burlington MA.  They said YES and quoted me a reasonable price and meet me in Needham in just a few hours from when I initially talked to them.  The bench was a bear to move and their 2 movers plus myself managed to do it.  The team from Pleasant Moving had a can do attitude and weren't going to fail.   I would hire them again in a second.

The movers were quick, hard working, and very pleasant throughout the move!  All furniture was handled carefully and was well protected on the truck.  The delivery of the furniture required some tricky maneuvers to clear doors and they managed without any issues.  The explanation of the costs prior to the move and summary at the end were very clear and professionally organized.  It's nice to work with a small company that provides personal services vs. a large company with employees who are just punching a time clock.  I would recommend them to anyone for any move.

Pleasant Moving of Boston - I called on a Thursday, looking for a last minute move for the very next day - Andrew called me right away - was able to accommodate my request.  They were early, packed everything into their truck very quickly and efficiently - In the meantime, my car'sbattery had died - and they took time to jump start my car!!  They were quick to unload the truck- 2nd floor walk up - They did have to travel from Boston to Weymouth(storage facility) then back to Braintree - With travel fees and 3 men/3 hours - their fee was very reasonable at $448.  They men were kind, and friendly - very efficient and above all reliable.  I would use them again and certainly would give a very positive reference for them,.

The communication from Pleasant Moving was good leading up to the move. They said they could accommodate a second move on a Saturday (the first move was supposed to be "a few hours.") Then they arrived 4 hours late, at 7:30 in the evening. Leading up to arrival, the owner/manager told us for 3 hours straight that the truck would be arriving the next hour.

When the movers finally arrived, they had been working for hours and were exhausted. My husband and I moved many things ourselves, many labeled boxes were left right in the door or outside in the garage. Someone got hurt and the team had no first aid kit. Everything came to a standstill for about an hour. They even had to call in someone because no one could physically carry our things up the stairs by midnight! I felt really bad about the whole experience, paying by the hour but having to watch people suffer trying to get it done under extreme duress. One or two of the movers were friendly and professional. I still feel bad for them, and I hope they all got the overtime that they legally deserve after that mess.

End result: Our brand new kitchen table has damage, we lost a box, a couch was ripped. We carried most of our valuables in trips with our own car and had to help with the physical moving of boxes up and down stairs. All of this is the result of poor management pushing exhausted laborers. Oh, but we got $150 knocked off the price, which was already 3 hours over the estimate.

I advise you to look elsewhere for your home move.
