Moves. 4 U

Armando and his team moved me in November ‘22. I couldn’t rate them highly enough. In spite of a bad start when two of his workers called in sick he managed to regroup and caught up to do an excellent job. A friend who moved the week before me had the same good experience with Moves 4U. I would highly recommend.

Quick and efficient, but not owning up to damage.

I would avoid!

The move itself was handled quickly and efficiently.

However, the movers seriously damaged a desk, and pasted gluing tape over the crack without telling us (if the tape had not been there, I would have only been 90% sure that the crack was not there before the move; but I am 100% sure that there was no crack that I or my wife covered with tape). When I raised this, once we discovered the crack two weeks later, the company denied any wrongdoing, and evidently none of the packers admitted to it. We had taken out insurance with Moves 4U, but the company refused to process the claim. Frankly, even the idea that,
unless you pay extra money for insurance, if they destroy your stuff, then it's your problem, was very odd to me. But if they don't even own up to their mischief, then the insurance is worthless, and you should only hire these people if you are prepared to carry the full risk of their mistakes.

Dear Alex, this is the owner; Armando who you dealt with throughout the move from the viewing, to the initial quote, to your moving contract.

As discussed already - myself or my staff never damaged any of the items during the move. We don’t even carry gluing tape.

We agree there was no damage prior to the move, as had one of the staff seen the damage before the move - this would have been put on the disclaimer form with our estimator.

You had no home/contents cover, so we offered our own 7 days cover, which you took. We never heard of any issues, in fact you sent an email saying: “Please send your guys a big Thank You, they did an excellent job with the move on Saturday!” - then 18 days after we get a message saying there’s damage to your table, and of course - you don’t have home/contents cover…

Also, everything is covered through the above mentioned 7 day insurance you took with us - my staff know this, so they have no motivation to try and bodge a repair. They would simply mention it to me and our insurance would have taken care of it, the same as any accidental damage has been treated in the past.

Your persistence in accusing us of something we so clearly didn’t do in the form of negative reviews around the web, in the hope to strong-arm us; a small, hardworking, honest business into claiming our insurance will not be condoned or accepted.

Time limit for claims
12.1 For goods which we deliver, you must notify us in writing of any visible loss, damage or failure to produce any goods at the time of delivery.
12.2 If you or your agent collect the goods, you must notify us in writing of any loss or damage at the time the goods are handed to you or your agent.
12.3 Notwithstanding clauses 9, 10 and 11 we will not be liable for any loss of or damage to the goods unless a claim is notified to us, or to our agent or the company carrying out the collection or delivery of the goods on our behalf, in writing as soon as such loss or damage is discovered (or with reasonable diligence ought to have been discovered) and in any event within seven (7) days of delivery of the goods by us.
12.4 The time limit for notifying us of your claim may be extended upon receipt of your written request provided such request is received within seven (7) days of delivery. Consent to such a request will not be unreasonably withheld.

Brilliant service!

From my first enquiry to when the job was completed, the whole process of moving house was as stress free as could be. Armando was lovely - he was professional and explained everything clearly to me when he came out in person to find out my requirements and to give me a quote. I was nervous because I have never moved a full house before, and there was a lot I wasn't sure about but every step of the way Armando and his team made my move something to be excited rather than worried about!

The guys were friendly and cheerful, and took great care of my furniture (and helped brave big spiders to help me disconnect my modem!). All my items were delivered safely. The whole experience was a pleasure - everything was packed up into the van and secured under Armando's experienced instruction, and my TV and pictures were wrapped so they didn't get jostled. The process was quick and straightforward, and the team worked hard and got finished by lunchtime.

Punctual, professional, polite and friendly, and able to keep me from flapping on what I worried would be a very stressful day - I can't recommend Armando and his team highly enough. Nothing was too much bother. Thank you guys!

Very professional and efficient

Armando came to the house to give an accurate price. On the day we moved the guys turned up on time. All were very friendly and professional. Nothing was too much bother. They really made me feel I was in safe hands. They are all lovely guys, and they all worked together really well. I would highly recommend the company and would use them again.
