WARNING! STAY AWAY!
Booked through Paul Logan for a small removal from Scotland to Northern Ireland.
Both myself and my husband were completely fooled by the friendly Ballymena hospitality and semi professional website, he had the audacity to invite us into his home, as someone else said he can certainly talk the talk.
Quoted £550, paid half as a deposit for the booking.
Told that the items would be picked up Thursday night or early Friday morning the following week (only specific times/dates suited, Mr Logan was aware of this). Called at 7pm on Thursday night to enquire about when the items would be collected, told that in fact it would now be Friday night earliest.
There would be no one there to allow access to be gained at that time.
Transpired he wasn’t even in Scotland.
He became very aggressive, confrontational and down right rude over the phone, bringing personal insults about my occupation into the phonecall.
He stated that he was in fact doing us a favour by doing the deliverly, that £550 was not a lot of money, and that I should put up and shut up, it will be delivered when it is delivered. Otherwise he will cancel and we would be without our belongings.
At this point I then saw the previous reviews by other unfortunate customers, with him holding their items to ransom. Needless to say I cancelled the delivery.
He put the £275 under his front door mat to be collect by ourselves, an absolute coward.
No apology, more importantly no delivery.
Needless to say we hired a van and done the job ourselves.
You’ve been warned, stay clear!

I contacted 4 companies, well in advance of my planned move from Northern Ireland to Dorset, and ended up being absolutely delighted to have chosen Logans for several reasons. (1) Paul insisted on coming out to view the house and its contents personally so that the quotation was accurate. Others estimated the size of the task based on either a video survey or a list of my furniture and Logans was the only company that suggested we needed more than one large vehicle. This turned out to be true as the 2nd, smaller vehicle, was needed to accommodate the balance of my contents after a very professional packing of the large main lorry. I can't imagine the chaos (not to mention the additional costs) that would have ensued had we gone with one of the other companies who were only suggesting one lorry. (2) During the visit to view our home and its contents, we were given very specific information about what we should pack ourselves and what we should leave for the crew to lift and transport. This made our packing in advance of the move date very efficient and eased our concerns about how much we should do ourselves, especially with regard to pictures, lamps, electronics and art. (3) We had some very specific requirements about collection and delivery dates as well as 2 different delivery destinations in the area of our new home. Logans took everything into consideration, arrived exactly as promised (no mean feat during heavy snow!) and delivered everything intact ahead of schedule during the period of "lockdown". (4) The crew who came to load and deliver the house contents were a delight to work with. Polite, courteous, helpful and careful with everything. This was in contrast to our previous move, just 3 years ago, where a different company, who had been engaged for the move, refused "point blank" to finish off the job by clearing the remaining items from the garage! Nothing was too much bother, everything we needed "to go" was packed and, at the other end, boxes were put in the appropriate rooms, furniture reassembled as required and we couldn't have asked for better. (5) The price for the service was very competitive and there were no "hidden extras". What we asked for was exactly what we got and the payment terms were very fair.

How would I describe our overall experience with Logans? Confident, Competent and Complete!

Logan's Removals based near Ballymena are a very cheap removal firm and whilst their website looks professional the service we received was disappointing at best. In hindsight we should have paid more money to a firm that is registered with the NGRS but due to a short timeframe to move we chose Logan's. Communication was very poor and the removal lorry arrived a whole day early despit me telling Mr Logan we would not be ready until the agreed date. Once the lorry arrived in N Ireland we were not given a specific time for our items to be delivered. Given that we had living plants in the lorry we were keen to get our items unloaded and in the end had to unload the items ourselves as the Logan's staff were not available. We are still waiting for a mirror which is being held hostage. Mr Logan has on numerous occasions told me he would drop it with us but 4 months later we are still waiting. I spoke to him 2 days ago and he had the cheek to tell me he was just setting off to deliver it - he didn't show up! If you have the money to use a more professional company I would strongly advise you do so. At the end of the day you get what you pay for and this company is cheap.
