Kemptown Removals

A stressful, disorganised and damaging (to my belongings) experience.
Man and van (Michael) arrived 40 mins late and argued that this was the agreed time, despite having a text confirmation of the agreed time for the 2 hour job on my phone.
He said on the phone when we asked why he was so late - "can you confirm you have money to pay if the job goes on longer as I charge for every 15 mins extra and will not come and start the job unless you have the extra money" (this was when he was already 30 mins late). He appeared to be doing everything he could to drag out the job - stopping for petrol, stayed in the van folding blankets and ties the entire time, did not lift, carry or move anything.
He also hit a neighbours car in our road and drove off and had a break light out.
When he opened the van the boxes labelled fragile were scattered across the floor of the van with heavier objects on top of them, when I asked what had happened he said "nothing they are fine!".
When he arrived at the new address he argued that he had been given the wrong address, again he refused to accept the evidence of a text message confirming the address that he had confirmed he had received and could not answer the question - how did you know where to come to then!? Continued to waste time trying to engage us in arguments that were based in fantasy land and completely irrational.
Appeared all he wanted was to drag out time so we would go over the 2 hour quote he had given us and be as unfriendly and unhelpful as possible.
Don't use Kemptown removals.

Thanks so much for doing such a great job in moving my family home yesterday. Kemptown removals went above and beyond the call of duty in helping us find alternative storage when our move was delayed by a day and then moving everything again the next day to our new home. All expertly moved and helped take some old furniture away too. Excellent job guys. Also great dog lovers! Say hello to sugar for me, and don't forget if you ever need a foster home for a week or two.

Kemptown Removals recently moved me from Brighton to London, the move went very smoothly, everything was placed exactly where we wanted it in the flat, and even suggested where furniture might be better placed! Just a note to say thanks to you & Gary´s team for such a job well done. Very friendly, professional, reasonably-priced and efficient service; we’re all very happy. Amazing knowledge of Londons roads as well! I will happily recommend on to anyone I know who needs a man with a van.

Very good service. We chose Kemptown Removals after asking 3 companies for a quote. They were the best value for the full service (pack, dismantle, move and reassemble) and for a fixed fee. They turned up on time the day before to pack, which was done with skill and carefully. They arrived at 7.30am on the day of removal, dismantled all furniture and reassembled at the new location. They worked solidly throughout the day with minimum of rest breaks. I would definitely recommend them (and pushing your budget if you can for the "stress free" full service).

Michael was very professional and polite throughout the entire process. He stepped in at short notice when another moving agency stood us up and the price he quoted was still below that of the other agency, despite the added hassle of short notice. He turned up on the agreed time - or actually just before- and organised the entire move in a very efficient way. I can recommend Kemptown Removals to anyone wanting secure, efficient and cost-effective noving services! We will certainly use them again next time.

We went with Kemptown Removals after reading some good reviews, and weren't disappointed. I was a bit wary as they were the cheapest quote we received, but from start to finish they were so helpful and friendly. The office manager answered all of my annoying questions in a friendly manner and always got back to me quickly. We'd booked a slot from 2pm and were told there might be a delay if the job before overruns, but that the guys would call and let us know. Luckily there was no waiting and the two guys arrived on time and got straight to work - they were efficient and friendly and moved us in the 2hrs we were quoted.
I'd highly recommend Top Removals - great price, friendly and efficient staff.

N.B. We had packed all of our belongings in advance, so just required the loading/unloading.
