All respectable removal firms offer cover for your goods while in transit. Some include this in the price and others will charge more for this service. When establishing a final quote during the survey process speak with your removals guy to clarify what cover is inclusive.

You may find that your household contents insurance will cover you whilst moving (sometimes there is an additional fee for this service), but some insurers do state they only offer cover if your items are moved by a professional removal company. Again, it's a case of speaking with your insurer to check the level of cover you currently have.
