Move size
- Partial move – 7.61%
- Studio – 3.59%
- 1-bedroom – 17.86%
- 2-bedroom – 28.74%
- 3-bedroom – 28.35%
- 4-bedroom and above – 13.85%
More than half of the moves in 2015 were 2 and 3-bedroom home moves. It seems that the people moving small size homes prefer to move by themselves. People inclined to look for a moving quote and full-service removal companies usually occupy larger residences.
Busiest move dates
The busiest date to move in UK was July 31st 2015, followed by April 30th and May 29th. According to our data, these were the most requested move dates.

- February – 7.16%
- March – 9.27%
- April – 8.67%
- May – 10.08%
- June – 9.07%

The highest number of moves took place in July and August. However, there is no extreme contrast between all months. Except for January and December, the volume is evenly distributed, with all months having a rate near to 10%.

Most of the moves took place in Friday and Saturday. This comes as no surprise, as people prefer to take advantage of the weekend instead of taking days off from work. Sunday is the least preferred day for relocation.
Cities with positive net migration

It is no surprise that London, Manchester and Birmingham are the three cities the gained the most population in terms of migration.
Moves out of the UK
Most of the people who moved out of the UK relocated to the USA, Ireland, France, Spain and Australia the most. As whole, most of the removals were to European countries. Germany, Switzerland, Canada, New Zealand and Italy were some of the other popular destinations for Brits.
Average costs to move within UK
Although, there has been a slight decline in the price, it turns out that the average removals cost hasn’t changed much over the last three years. The average price for a domestic move is about GBP 1000. Here is some more information on how the removals price is calculated.
