Long-distance move from Ontario to Alberta

Long distance move to Alberta

IMove helped us relocate from Mississauga to Edmonton this fall. We used their portable crate service, delivered to our house. Each crate came packed with blankets and shrink wrap which helped us secure our valuables. We were provided with an upfront cost per crate and not per pound like most other long distance movers. This helped us budget our relocation better. Overall we are very happy with services rendered.

Movers.

The move started of fine and then went from bad to worse.
They spent twenty minutes looking over what we had to move which to me, was a waste of time. then they proceeded to shrink wrap all our items which was another waste of time. they took their time loading our items into the truck. That alone took three hours.
In between they took two twenty minute smoke breaks.
After that we went to our new apartment. They proceeded to unload our items.
Here comes the difficult part. They asked for payment.
Andrew quoted me $395.50 for four hours. He did not say anything about an hourly rate after four hours.
This quote led me to believe that would be the total amount to pay and that the whole move would take four hours. These guys dragged it out and the whole move which should have taken four hours took seven.
We handed them $400.00 in cash. They showed us a bill with added charges for gas, mileage and a service fee.
Andrew failed to mention this. When we said we had no more money the one man started arguing and threatened to call the police and said for me to talk to his boss. I could not get a hold of Andrew and spoke with someone else who said he would talk to his driver. The driver stood there yelling at us and arguing and said that he would dump all our remaining furniture on the lawn. Which he started to do. They almost drove away with our bed and new television. Do Not book these people for your move. they are crooks and only want your money. Not a reputable company at all. Not professional in the least. .

2 bedroom condo move in North York.

I was referred to iMove by my father in-law who used them last year.
Our new condo closing came through sooner than expected and we were
stuck with having to do a short notice move during holiday season. I
was so relieved that iMove was able to provide us with required packing
supplies on December 24th so we could pack and move on the 26th. Having
2 bedrooms made us fill up their 26' truck and still needed to pick up
a storage locker on the way. The movers we got knew what they were doing
and I am glad that we chose a 3 man option to make things go faster. The
move itself was a breeze and we were fully setup at our new place by
the weekend. A from us.

Office Move From Mississauga to Etobicoke.

IMove helped move our office from Eglinton and East Mall in Mississauga to Islington and Dundas in Etobicoke. We had only 3 offices, mostly glass desks, some file cabinets and a bunch of boxes. Unfortunately both locations were stairs only and we were moving from 3rd floor to 2nd floor walkup so that a real hassle. The moving crew handled it well and managed to get the job done in our allocated after-hours window. We had a 4 man crew present and I am happy we chose that option over 3 men which was suggested by other companies. All in all it was a pleasant experience considering I can't stand moving. The guys did their job as promised and that is all that matters.

Tasteless - where are the ethics?

I had booked a move with imovecanada (Andy) at 416-888-2596 for a move from Paris Ontario to Toronto Ontario for May 30th.  As the delivery location is in an apartment building, times needed to be coordinated with the building to reserve the elevator.  So I drove to Paris from Toronto to disassemble some furniture in preparation for the move and the 10am pick-up.  My parents, gracious as they are, offered to wait for the movers so I can return to Toronto. By 11:30, the company still had not appeared for the move and I began calling them to find out where they are.  The repeated message was "the voicemail is full" so I couln't leave a message for the first few hours of calling.  After calling Head Office and trying every phone option, all I could do was leave a voicemail wherever possible, but to no avail. This is unacceptable conduct.  As the house is listed for sale, I have prospects coming to see the home and now they will see disassembled furniture.  This is incredibly disrespectful behaviour by any company.  In my case "imovecanada", translates into "i-move-nothing-canada").  I strongly encourage you to consider this if you are planning a move.

Long-distance move from Alberta to Ontario

Moving from Calgary to Etobicoke.

I used iMove's services for a long distance move from Calgary at the end of February. Referred by a friend I was confident in my expectations and iMove delivered on time. My furniture was packed and wrapped by the crew early morning, loaded on the carrier by early afternoon and arrived at my new condo in 7 days. The driver (Rob) was very professional and ensured I was pleased with the job done. A service.

Relocated from Alberta to Ontario.

I had to move back to Ontario for a work related project and was referred to iMove Canada by a friend of mine who used iMove last summer to move from Toronto to Edmonton. I only had a bachelor pad and usually travel light so my move was just around 1500 pounds, mostly boxes.
My goods were picked up on Monday morning, wrapped and skidded the same day, however, due to a missed called from their office I was not able to make the same day truck and instead of 7 days my delivery took 11. Otherwise the service was great, the crew was professional and handled everything great. I was given a lump sum charge and the company kept its promise. Great service! Jay.

Long Distance Moving From Calgary to Toronto.

IMove Canada helped my family to relocate from Calgary, Alberta to Toronto, Ontario this past November. We had a 3 bedroom house and required help with packing our household items prior to the move. iMove's local agent assessed the shipping requirements and provided us with a quote for packing service as well. Our crew packed the breakables 2 days in advance and everything was loaded carefully over the weekend. The movers were friendly and professional. Delivery was completed within the promised time frame, our goods arrived in good condition. We are very happy with the service provided!

Moving, Installation and Setup Work.

I've used iMove's services on several occasions and have referred themto our customers looking for help moving to our storage facility. I know that some referrals chose other movers for a lower rate but having used iMove's crew I know they won't compromise quality just to underbid someoneelse. We completed our 3700 square foot custom home on Lakeshore close to Dixie road and I had a bunch of brand new furniture come in from Asia that required delicatehandling, setup and arranging inside the house. We hired a 4 man crew for three 8 hour days. I asked for the same crew we had used before and 3 of the 4 movers were available. Everything was handled with care and the job was completed as expected. A service. .

Condo Move From Mississauga to Etobicoke.

I am not good at writing these but I really wanted to thank iMove and the crew they provided for my recent move.I was moving from my Webb drive condo to Sherway Gardens and we had a full 2 bedroom place plus a locker. My wife is pregnant and I work full time so we asked for help withpacking in advance. iMove provided all the supplies and packed all of our delicates a few days prior to the move. Our elevator was booked from 8am to 1pm so we had plenty of time to move out but a rather short window of 2pm to 4pm at the delivery. I am glad our movers were punctual and loaded up faster than we aniticipated so we had some waiting time at the new condo (we bought the guys lunch). I was a littleparanoid about damaging the condo elevators at first but the crew brought extra padding and even layed down floor runners atmy new place. The move went well, no damage, on time and within our budget. I have already referred their service to my cousin who will use them in April.
