Excellent service in every respect

I’ve moved many times over the last 30 years, both in the States and here in the U.K., and my experience with Hughes was by far the best. It started with the assessment when Melvyn Hughes reassured me everything would be very straight forward—exactly what I needed to hear heading into the stress of moving again!

I loved the fact that whenever I had questions about the upcoming move, I got straight through to Sheryl or Ruth in the office, and they could not have been more helpful.

Everything ran like clockwork. Boxes and traffic cones were delivered beforehand, the guys arrived on time, and every aspect of the move was conducted efficiently and smoothly.

And all the guys were wonderful. Hughes clearly recruit their team members with customer care very much in mind. All of the team working on my move were personable, respectful and made it clear that their purpose was to make the move as seamless and stress-free for me, as possible. Special thanks must got to Adam & Nick who really looked after me.

I have no hesitation in recommending Hughes, and should I ever mover again, I’ll be straight on the phone to them.

Couldn't find booking - 5 days before date.

Booked packing service and removal for very elderly parents on 27th July [phone records as evidence]. Phoned today [18th Aug] to confirm removal for 23rd Aug. No record, no one remembers the booking and they're fully booked. All week. This is Saturday, and I'm frantically looking for a removal firm to take over as parents have to be out of their house on Friday. Appalling! They went on to recommend 'man with a van' - which is no good for two elderly people! Poor performance all round.

House move.

We moved house just before Xmas after 20 years in our previous address. As we were downsizing as well it was quite a stressful time.
Can't praise the company enough, they came when they said, did what they said and moved us with the minimal amount of extra hassle.
Not only were they competitively priced, they offered free loan packing boxes/materials and even delivered and picked them up afterwards.
No damages or lost items, all in all a great service.

Service/reliability.

I had to take charge of my elderly Brothers house sale and purchase of a bungalow for him. I picked Hughes removals for
the actual move, it was an excellent service they provided
staff were professional, polite, and considerate to the needs of
an elderly gentleman with mobility problems. I recommend this
company to anyone in need of a removal firm.

Many thanks for a fantastic, professional and caring company. Had to change dates many times, no penalty or hassle. Johnny, Adam & Matt and 2 other men were fun, quick, careful and very kind. Excellent service.

Just had my house contents delivered out of storage. The team arrived on time and put everything exactly where I wanted. They took great care - not so much as a scratch anywhere. Everything was in perfect condition after six months in storage. Couldn't ask for more really.
