Friendly Removals

I had a terrible experience with this company.

The movers were incredibly slow and took 3 hours to move 15 medium boxes, a small 2-person sofa and a guitar 6 miles away. They were unprofessional and inexperienced in many ways:
- They dropped and dragged the sofa on the floor outside, when I complained about this they responded with 'but is it broken?- no'
- They did not know how to use a trolley. They tried to push it over a small ledge rather than to pull it over the ledge
- They did not use the trolley to load the van, instead choosing to take one or two cartoons at a time, obviously not worried about efficiency. At one point, one even went up the lift with just one box!
- There was not a seat for me in the van, despite this being part of the company policy. There was a driver there that only drove and 2 movers. I don't know why 3 men are needed to do a 2 person job.

I complained to the driver and he said I needed to call the company to sort it out with them. When I then spoke to Dylan at the company, he told me there was nothing they could do as I had already paid the drivers.

Do not use this company- they are not professional and won't accept any responsibility for their movers' actions, telling me they are 'self-employed'.

A belated review but a review none the less, a couple of months ago I used friendly movers for the second time in 5yrs and they were even better than before. This time we were moving from a flat to a house and we had accumulated lots of bits and pieces over the years, so I requested and extra bloke for the move because there was extra lifting involved. To cut a long story short  the rates were good and the movers were exceptional, it was wonderful dealing with a company that delivers what they promise, well done guys and wish you a great future.

Service cost: £350

I needed them to be prompt at 2pm, to get to the storage company on time. I emphasised this to them when booking, and then testily insisted that they'd be on time. I underlined more than once how important it was that they were with me on time. 

2pm came and went, then 3pm, then they said they'd probably be there by 4. Which was too late to get to the storage place. Half a day off work completely wasted. 

They then had the nerve to suggest a 20% discount if I did the move tomorrow. Tomorrow was no good - I needed it done TODAY, which is why I booked with them, because they PROMISED they'd be on time. 

THey were unbelievably unapologetic and rude.

I used Friendly Movers, who are based in London, to move the contents of a one bedroom flat from a storage unit in Watford to a flat in Northampton in April 2012. They were quick, competent and, yes, friendly! Nothing was broken or damaged. The price I was quoted was the price I paid, which was a lot cheaper than those quoted by bigger firms. The chaps were about half an hour late but did ring to warn me - that's London traffic for you. I would not hesitate to recommend them.
