Fluent Moving & Storage

Reading their website the company almost seems like a scam, after the experience we’ve had. Just moving to another city cost us as much as our international move overseas. Cost aside, we have so much damage and there’s not the slightest effort for any compensation. They don’t wrap stuff, just fill boxes and close everything with plastic tape. So crockery and breakables were broken, and we found indelible remainders of tape everywhere. Book shelves without shelves or plugs, deep dents in wooden bed and chairs, living room cupboard shelves without the frame, ripped books from storing on the soft side, they forgot to empty out a whole closet, and a cell phone was missing. Also, the movers damaged the wooden floor and freshly painted wall in the stairwell in our new home. We’ve been trying to raise an insurance claim via the insurance that movers are obligated to have. We have submitted our claim to Fluent, but a year has gone by now and our communication stays unaddressed, despite numerous follow-ups. They claim to be part of the Canadian Association for Movers BUT they are NOT. The CAM has confirmed that Fluent is not registered with the CAM (their website indicates that they are, but this is not true). Don’t let anything convince you to move with them. You will regret it. The stars on Google are probably from before the company changed owners.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $7500

I was skeptical about hiring any mover having been "shaken down" for more money when moving to Toronto and my budget for this move certainly was not deep. It absolutely had to go right. Fluent movers showed extraordinary patience in my emails going back and forth initially in order to satisfy myself they could be trusted before hiring them. They came out and did an onsite survey, provided an estimate, and guaranteed no matter what it would not be more than 10% more. Their quote was not the cheapest, but nor was it even close to the most expensive. They arrived on time, sent a sufficient number to load to stay on schedule, worked their butts off, took reasonable breaks, were polite, clean, courteous, respectful, and even thoughtful in their handling of the large amount of stuff we had. Having had bad experiences in the past, I was actually shocked at how good they were. Beyond all expectations, making them the best value there is in my opinion. When we move again in a year and any times thereafter, I will be making just one call to Fluent. From now on for my family there will be no other movers even quoting. Not worth the risk when you know about guys this friggin' good. Thanks, Dean, and especially Shaun, Eden, and the 3 other terrific guys who busted their butts for us! I am very hard to impress, but you guys did so in spades! From two disabled people with not alot of dough or room for error and who were terrified their move would not go well, my deepest appreciation for your very rare level of professionalism and making this move the very first SEAMLESS one I've ever had! Service cost: $2400

Quoted $650 for the move, was charged $1050 even after sending pictures, providing the storage unit size and listing the two large items that needed to be moved - an oak dining room table and a treadmill. No bed, no sofa, just light boxes (filled with kitchenware and clothes) equivalent to half of a 10x10 storage unit. Nothing changed from the time of the quote but somehow the charges skyrocketed. When I called to review the bill, I was told the person on the other end didn’t have the bill on hand so didn’t know why the cost had gone up so much. But they were able to charge my credit card within minutes.. was told I’d get a call on Monday to review the bill. Call never came but the payment posted to my Visa. Sad because I opted to go with this company rather than another because of the good reviews.. and the other company only quoted $350 for the move! Horrible experience, would not recommend. As an aside, I’ve noticed they have the exact same 5* reviews posted by multiple users.. seems a little sketchy. Buyer beware!

At first I was skeptical about this company. Then, I decided to contact them and spoke to the consultant named Johnathan. He was diligent and reassured me hiring fluent moving was my best chance at making my family home relocation from Toronto to Ottawa stress-free. On the day of the move clean shinny truck showed up on time and movers were fantastic. Delivery next day at our new home went smooth and as planned. nothing was damaged and the final price matched the estimate. thank you to the professional team at Fluent moving. Highly recommend them if you are looking for a reliable moving company.

Very professional from the time of booking to the day of moving. My moving was happening during a very difficult time in my life so I was grateful that everything went smoothly. The movers themselves were very friendly and were very careful during the entire move. They arrived on time and worked efficiently. It was suggested I provide pictures which was a great idea since what I was quoted is what I ended up paying. Thank you! I would definitely recommend their services.

I went online to find a moving company, in Newmarket, Ontario. I came across a site that gave me 6 options. Fluent customer service representative, John, phoned me within five minutes, emailing me an estimate after our conversation. The moving crew, Justin and Dave were curteous, professional, friendly, focused and very easy to engage. The move was seamless, no complications, the cost as per estimate. Would certainly recommend. 5 star rating. A+ rating with Better Business Bureau: their employees are all full time and bonded. Excellent service from first contact to completion of contracted job. It's not often you find people/companies deliver as advertised but Fluent did just that. Jonathan assured me a team of 3 professional movers would complete my same-day move from Woodbridge to Nobleton in approx 8 hours and they delivered. The team (Dave, Justin and Rod) were professional, worked safely and no items were damaged. I could not ask for a better result, should I need to move again I would turn to Fluent once again and would highly recommend them, thanks Jonathan and team at Fluent.
