This company is horrific. We moved locally after getting robbed. They helped us for two days. Our quote was 1,800. Then they threw in some bs about triple time and double time. I swear on my life it was about $14000 to move from Encino to Tarzana. They are disgusting , horrific people. Call me, reach out. I hired a lawyer today. No choice. They even dropped our stuff in the street when my husband said we didn’t have anymore money to give them. They never finished moving us. Truly these people are disgusting. It’s all a scam here. TL;DR: Elite Moving is a complete scam, and will bleed you dry AFTER they’ve completed the job. This post is very long, because the owner of the company said that he would respond to these posts with pictures of our ‘contract’, and so I would like you to see how this really happened.

On June 20th, 2022 I called Elite Moving and Storage, at their Sun Valley location, to procure moving services for the furniture in our one bedroom apartment. I should note that during this conversation with an employee, Oren, I specifically told him that I would only like our furniture to be moved. We wanted to keep moving costs as low as possible, and Oren, knowing this, gave us an estimate of $850-900 dollars. This was a relatively short phone call (just under 4 minutes), and the exchange consisted of me telling him to move only the furniture, that we had a one bedroom apartment, and that we were moving from Pasadena, CA to Redlands, CA. I explained to him that it was around 61 miles one way, and he responded that this was not a problem. We scheduled a date for the 25th of June, and he told me he would send an email to me, with details. I gave him my email using the phonetic alphabet (A as in Alpha, etc.) as I always do, and he took it down. This was the end of the exchange.

On June 25th, the movers came - a total of three men. They were very professional for the most part, and successfully moved all of our furniture without damage, which we were very pleased with. However, once the moving was complete, the movers issued us a bill for $1925. We were shocked. We figured that after a tip and extraneous costs, the bill might be around $1200, but over double our estimate was insane. We explained this to one of the movers, who explained that labor alone would be more than our original estimate. When I asked him why I received such a smaller quote, he did not know. We used my mother-in-law’s credit card to even afford to pay it, and let them go.

After this, I called the company to explain the issue - maybe there was a mistake. The woman who answered the phone was very rude, and simply said, “It’s just an estimate”. The call was a short one.

I called back the next day, and spoke to someone who said that their supervisor would be available later, and to call back.

After about a week, we called again, and asked to speak with a supervisor. They let us know that he would be back in tomorrow, and that if we weren’t contacted then, to call back.

Two days later, we called back again. We were able to speak to Oren, the employee who gave us our original estimate. When we explained the situation, he said repeatedly that he didn’t give that estimate, and that he explained all the extra fees to me. When I explained that he didn’t, we checked what email he sent it to, and discovered that he had misspelled it. He sent us over, at the correct email address, the estimate that he sent, even though we were already moved into the new apartment. We asked to speak with a supervisor again, and he said that Val would contact us soon.

A week and a half later on July 20th, (If you’re keeping track, that’s almost a month of phone tag) Val finally called us. I gave my husband the phone to speak with him, during which, the call was on speakerphone. During the course of this phone call, he intimated that I, my husband’s wife, clearly relayed the information wrong, and that because my husband wasn’t the person to set the initial process into motion, that he couldn’t possibly know for sure that I didn’t screw up. Then, he repeated over and over again that we should be ‘happy about a job well done’ and that ‘it was just an estimate’. We told him that over double the estimate is a bad estimate, and he stated that it didn’t matter because it was an estimate. At the end of the phone call, he stated clearly that we could ‘post whatever we want on the internet’, but that he would attach my contract to the reply - the contract that I didn’t receive until the job was complete.

My goal here is to explain how you, a potential customer, can see how dishonest each part of the exchange with Elite Moving is. They will use their website with C-List celebrity autographs and an A+ from the Better Business Bureau. Just know that if you go to the BBB website, the actual customer reviews are 2.5/5 stars, and that these do not count towards the BBB rating. Do your research, because I promise you that this level of dishonesty, terrible business, and condescending, unprofessional customer service is not worth whatever you have to do to work with another moving business.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Flat Service cost: $1900

At the last minute my cousin called me up and told me she had a week to move from her home in Santa Monica to Santa Barbara. We called several moving companies but none could help us on such short notice until I came across Elite. We talked with Donna and was immediately greeted with a yes we can help. They showed up right as scheduled and we're very good at handling breakables and valuables. They were fast but cautious while loading the truck. It was a few weeks before delivery day and

as my cousin's new apartment wasn't ready yet. They extended the storage for additional days. on move in day they crew was ready and eager to get the job done. These guys were very professional and worked efficiently to get the job done without breaking anything. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing to move locally in Cali as they are affordable and a great crew to have there to help. We made sure to tip them nicely for such a great job done.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $9000

I used Elite Moving and Storage when I moved to New Orleans. Their staff was responsive and professional. One of my children had spilled a drink, and one of their movers cleaned up a spill inside our home. Their staff is polite and they go above and beyond to do a good job. They are quick! They packed my house in half of a day!

Our items all arrived safely. I was happy they offered to drop it off a day before our original estimated date. It was doing business with them!

Move size: Partial Move Service cost: $6000

We took a reference for Elite from a coworker who had a very successful experience. Glad we did! I had already priced a move from CA to South FL with 5 other moving companies in the LA area and found Elite to be the most competitive. Lots of our stress was eliminated after speaking with their staff and arranging all the aspects of our time frame and scope of items to be transported. We were 100% satisfied and very impressed with the communication and the attention to detail and care our items were handled. Thanks for helping us in a difficult time and keeping constant professionalism from beginning to end.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3680

I had to make a cross-country, long-distance move and was searching for a reliable moving company. Elite Moving & Storage was fantastic and I particularly have to thank Donna, who was so helpful in answering all of our questions! Everything was scheduled perfectly ahead of time and the movers showed up when we were told they would be, and loaded all of our items carefully which I appreciated since we had several pieces that I was nervous about making the long move (they came through just fine). I had contacted a couple different companies before the move and Elite's prices were really reasonable, especially for the distance that we were moving. Elite gave us a quote beforehand so we knew exactly what to expect, and I actually got charged a little less than the quote which was great. The crew members that helped with my move was professional and courteous, and everything was safely moved and put where I asked in our new place. Overall, I'm really happy I went with Elite, and they made what could have been an incredibly stressful couple of days much easier than I thought it would be.

My friend Mellissa referred me to Elite Moving and Storage last year for moving when I got Laid off and had to move back home.

It was pretty stressful and I had to change the date twice because of Covid.

Donna, the scheduler was really helpful with all the arrangementand even called the week before to make sure everything was still on schedule.

She quoted me a really good price that was better than the other quotes i received.

It was great that when the move did happen I had a good insite into what my costs would be including all the expenses of the packing etc.

I wasn't feeling like I was going to be nickel and dimed because we went over all of that beforehand.

I shopped around a little but did trust my friend and I'm glad I went with these guys.

Everyone was extremely helpful and professional through the whole process and made it a quick and smooth process.

I would definitely reccomend them for moving.

I don't generally write reviews but because I had a really great experiece with these Guys I figured that I would take a few minutes to do it.

We don't generally see the good things people experience but we almost always see the bad because people just don't take time out of our schedules if all has been a smooth transaction because it's out of our minds but bad ones...just linger. So we definately see those.

I'm guilty of not taking the Time also.

I had a great move with these guys from start to finish.

When I called and talked to scheduling it was very pleasant and I was able to get a quote that I felt was fair and reasonanble especially compared to the other 3 that I called.

Their Scheduler was very accomodating and took her time to discuss everything and was also very honest saying that there were sometimes unforeseen charges that we dont account for because we usually underestimate the amount of things we have.

But, they do discuss it with you at the time to be able to come to a mutual agreement.

My biggest concern was some of my breakables and Collectors items.

But, everything was treated with care and their team was extremely respectful of my home and my belongings.

900 miles and everything was intact... except 2 things that of course I packed myself !!!

I would like to take this oppurtunity to say Thank you so much to their entire Team for helping to make this move as smooth as it could be.

I'm so glad my Sister recommended them.
