Question
I am selling my property, and my buyer’s surveyor has identified that some damp proofing needs to be done. I have a 30 year guarantee that was issued by a surveying company in September 1999. What do I need to do now, as I would like some advice on the buyer’s HomeBuyer Report and possibly the repairs done in accordance to the 30 year guarantee.
Answer
Hi Ms Mokeme
We would suggest that your first course of action would be to contact the company that provided you with the damp proofing guarantee and go from there. They will be able to let you know more about the process and discuss the HomeBuyer Report your buyer's surveyor has produced.
If the surveyor that did your initial damp proofing and guarantee is not available, you should find out if there is a damp proofing association and contact them.
We hope this helps you, and good luck with your house sale.
