Question
I've had a RICS HomeBuyer Report and Valuation carried out on the property I plan to buy. Can I submit this to my mortgage company rather than paying for their surveyor to do a valuation survey?
Answer
The valuation in your RICS HomeBuyer Report can only be submitted if the surveyor is part of the lendor’s ‘panel'.
You will need to enquire of the surveyor you are using for your RICS HomeBuyer Report if they are - alas, as many lendor’s use a very small circle of surveyors whom they approve for mortgage valuations there is a fairly strong likelihood that the surveyor will not be on their panel.
