Abbey Move

I'm baffled reading the below review from a Mr Boss.. seems quite shocking to me. I had a removal from Abbey Move this weekend and all of my belongings were in safe hands. They arrived promptly on time, 3 gentleman who kindly introduced themselves and talked me through what they'd be looking to do today. My daughter was quite keen to help them out (After many tears about moving so far away!!) and they let her boss them about a little bit which made her day! We moved to a completely different city and from a bungalow to a 3 story house, so was quite worried about our belongings being moved around, especially as we own quite a few valuable possessions.

The cost was brilliant, it beat any quote that I had from anyone else from Swindon. I had a quote from Pickfords and my jaw practically hit the ground, I thought 'how are we ever going to afford to move', however when I spoke to Lin at Abbey Move and she confirmed the cost over the phone, I was so pleased that I finally was able to find an affordable quote and could work on completion with my Solicitors. Having only one other review on here and it being so negative, I felt the least I could do is leave a positive review to show people that the company really isn't as Mr Boss has claimed (after all, no news is good news so one bad comment shouldn't say too much really in my opinion). I couldn't praise this company any more, I've referred them to all my family and friends! I would recommend Steve and his colleagues to everyone I know! Thank you Steve for such a positive and carefree experience.

This firm according to their website and proprietor Steve Murtough (SM) (who visited us to inspect prior to our move) are a professional, experienced and fully insured Removals firm. They moved us from Wootton Bassett to Moreton-in-Marsh in late August 2015 and frankly they acted in an UNprofessional, INexperienced manner and I doubt very much if they were insured. 6 men, in 3 vans rented from Swindon Van & Car Rentals turned up (late) on removal day and proceeded to load up at breakneck speed with no regard for protection of items (they provided no protection whatsoever for fragile items eg. TVs, pictures etc. nor any protective material for furniture) and dragged 4 bed frames across the van floors severely scuffing them. Several items were broken and furniture damaged, dented and scuffed in numerous places. I emailed & phoned SM but received no response, nor did my solicitors have any joy. Did I get a visit from their Insurers to inspect the damage? No..! Do they actually have any insurance? I doubt it! My view of Abbeymove? A bunch of cowboys.
